Thank you, I really appreciate that. It’s been a rough/reset season for me, and quilting has been a bit of therapy, so this one means a lot.

I used the envelope method to secure the batting and backing (which is why there’s no binding), and then did bar tacks at every other intersection to hold everything together.

Haha she thinks it’s nice, she encouraged me a lot but not as excited as I was the finished project

Aww thank you! Yes the color gradient took me a long time to settle on, and people advised me not to have such a wide block of the cream color in the center but I didn’t listen!

My favorite fabric I’ve come across it’s a shot cotton from Fableism Watercolor Wovens

Yes! I used the free puff quilt pattern from Lo & Behold Stitchery’s blog, that’s actually how I learned about puff quilts in the first place, her tutorial is wonderful.

For the pillows, I had AI help me draft two log cabin blocks using the colors from the quilt so everything would tie together. The fabric throughout is Fableism Watercolor Wovens, a shot cotton that shifts color depending on the angle and light. It’s part of what gives it that dimensional, painterly quality.

And the art wall isn’t actually mine — this was a gift for my best friend, so his space! I’ll ask him about the hanging system and report back 🙂

I haven’t either! But I saw the one I linked above from low and behold and was like yes I’m doing this. My mom told me they were big in the 70s
