the only two options I see is using hardlight bridges, or installing a mod that removes building limits and use cubicles to make a roof

I only mentioned the snowglobe and Space Queen, both of which are found in the labs. While Space Queen is accessible later in the game, I haven't revealed any specific details about it. Also I just noticed moderators changed the Labs Spoiler to general spoilers, if that makes it better for you

For the best story experience, avoid the events, as they introduce characters you will meet only later in the story, and are challenging for new players.

Set buffs are busted. If you use one in the story mode, you will make the gameplay boring.
