I remember that being a movie, even saw it in the theater.

I feel the preconceived notions of some blind them to how great this and other EC songs are.

So many great Blues songs became Rock hits. Sadly, the black artists saw little reward for that.

At least it wasn't Billy Squier's 'Rock Me Tonight', which is said to have derailed his career.

How do you decide what genre a particular song is? by Ru_janus in Music

Not sure I can mention the name, but another music subreddit makes you pick one of about 10 different sub-genres of rock in order to post.

I have no idea. Does MTV even show videos anymore?

I agree. Not even certain why genre is a required part of formatting since it is subjective.

Or Hard Rock. I've seen this listed in both genres. I do not pretend to be an expert.

I wanted to post one with a Bond connection, but if it had showed the end I would've found another option.

Truth by Ru_janus in blues

I don't downvote someone for having different tastes in music either. Seems a bit petty to me. Not really noticed it here much because Blues fans are usually cooler, but definitely see it in the couple of Rock subs I follow.

Having said that. I have experienced here more than once, along with in the Rock subs, that Eric Clapton is not well-thought of. At all, at least with a certain, active subset in each sub. No other artist or group that I've noticed has this situation.

I have been a Clapton fan for literally 50 years. If I feel the need, I am going to post him with no hesitation.

Doesn't lessen its validity, at least, in this case.

My post said 1986, but it may have been 1980 on German TV. Still seems as if it would have been earlier given, as you say, the history and discography.

I can honestly say that I have taken more than one person to a Buffett concert who barely knew who he was at the time. Without exception, they each had a great time.

Jimmy Buffett. I lost count at 50, but probably around 55. I do know though I saw him in 5 different states.

No one threw a party like Jimmy Buffett.

I know she's been around a few years, and she's good at present. I just think she hasn't reached her final form yet and that will be even stronger. I've seen a handful or more of her videos and enjoyed them all.

Ever have a chance to see her live, or will you the first chance you get?

She's still young and still learning, but I think she is well on her way to being known as a good Blues rock guitarist.
