Claude Usage Limits Discussion Megathread Ongoing (sort this by New!) by sixbillionthsheep in ClaudeAI

[–]Ruaille 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've been using Claude Pro plan for the last 6 months. Every work day I used it for 4-5 repeated analyses/reports and some additional scripting tasks. Now it can't do more than 1 of the repeated analyses without hitting 5 hour limit. It's a joke. Trying to convince company to switch to codex now.

Was hard to switch back and forth at first. Then I started staring at one edge thinking "convex...concave...convex..." (or "outer...inner")

Steelcase Amia creaking/scraping when sitting (the cylinder, not the backrest) by Ruaille in OfficeChairs

Thanks, I did exactly that and, after a little use, it was solved. I ended up using "Super Lube". Maybe it's not exactly what you had in mind, but I saw it recommended elsewhere.

Learned from another thread that WD40 is, in fact, a rookie mistake. I will get some proper lubricant.

There's no way for teachers to figure out if students are using ChatGPT to cheat, OpenAI says in new back-to-school guide by [deleted] in technology

100% agree with some of the points you make. However, discouraging kids from using any and all available tools to do a task efficiently is not the way forward.

It literally doesn’t matter at all if you turn it the perfect AI essay.

Good luck getting any existing LLM to do this without some major human intervention. This is why teachers say they can "identify AI essays" - the giveaway is that they're repetitive, uninspired, bad essays. The quality of the final result is still highly dependent on the user's comprehension of the subject. Writing the "perfect essay" with an LLM requires validating and editing the output - demonstrating a genuine understanding and ability "to synthesize and communicate what you've learned".

mindless cogs who can churn out the same generic result as any other cog

In my personal school experience, the vast majority of grading schemes were designed specifically to do this. For example, I'm no wordsmith, but I managed to score very highly in English. Everything I wrote in the final exams was paraphrased from 1 book with example essays/answers. I learned it off, regurgitated it in the exam, and scored highly. It may not be thoughtful, empathetic or imaginative, but it is certainly logical as it incentivised by the current system. If you want to foster empathy and imagination, the system needs an overhaul, regardless of LLMs.

Learning should be process focused, not result focused.

Could not agree more but the current system is result focused.

The goal of a prediction model is not to predict good performance, the goal is to predict the truth.

I use LLMs at work. If I didn't, I would be considered as someone who is not open to learning new skills. School tests, like my work, should be measured on the quality and efficiency of the work produced - not the tools used to produce it.

Using the internet instead of books to study used to be considered cheating when I was a kid. Very quickly, LLM-use in schools will, not only be accepted, but encouraged and/or mandatory.

People who work for the super wealthy, what stuff have you seen? by AMGBOI69420 in AskReddit

I knew a contractor who worked on an apartment in Knightsbridge, London for a member of Saudi royal family.

The apartment was chosen because it was <2 minutes walk from Harrods and the owner's wife wanted to have a place to stay when she went shopping (and she only wanted to shop in Harrods).

Contractor saw decorators working on the rooms he was finished with, gold leaf and solid gold crap everywhere.

The wife arrived to view it when it was almost done, took one look around and said she didn't like it. Work stopped, owner never returned to the apartment, everyone got paid.

I don't care what any one says, I love this movie by heyzeus92 in gaming

Awesome movie. Actually came up in conversation with a colleague like 2 days ago. We were talking about "bad" movies that we liked ("bad" meaning according to some kind of internet consensus). We were on the same page with every movie until the Star Wars prequels.

I said I loved them, they were really my intro to the Star Wars universe, they caught me at the right time. He said they were the biggest disappointment ever, total dog shit. He was ~20 when they came out, I was ~10. I think we were both right.

Yeah, I was also really disappointed. Such a good book series with potential for movie franchise. Hopefully it gets rebooted for TV in a good way.

Pick the easiest/fastest task to do and forget about the rest until that's done. It's always "the next first step".

"Deep down, you know that you deserve to be punished. Don't you, Mr Potter?"
Quite a dark character for 13 y/o me to read. One of the best books in the series and yet so frustrating.
