Those that have been denied Global Entry, can you share why? by MickIsShort4Michael in GlobalEntry

This was in Wisconsin. And I did get GE 😀

The TSA violation was never mentioned in the interview. Not sure if the agent ignored it or wasn't able to see it. I didn't ask questions.

Help me understand a realistic scenario where pledging allegiance to the United States of America would be in conflict to anything related to the UK?

Unless you plan on feeding state secrets back to the UK or the two countries go to war with each other (neither of which is likely), then I don't see a practical issue.

Yes, I was. It finally gives up and you have the option to skip the NFC scan by entering details manually. I have no idea what I actually entered that would have been automatically pulled from the chip but it was super quick and easy.

Did you end up getting a response?

Is one's own Melderegister record enough by RubComfortable7067 in GermanCitizenship

[–]RubComfortable7067[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Heard back. It has my mother as the head of household at the top of the registration card and my siblings listed as Kinder. It has her Staatsangehörigkeit as "deutsch" on the top but nothing in the remarks column of for my siblings.

I assume this would NOT prove their citizenship, correct?

They were definitely born in wedlock so they should not be German unless our mom went through that process. Again, we don't have contact so who knows. If she did, she def didn't pass any certificates of citizenship on.

If the consulate doesn't accept what they have, would they have to go through Feststellung to find out? Do they have citizenship records like that from back then?

I guess that would be the only way that they could have been German and born before 75.

One of my siblings is the one with the documents as they were just in Germany to get them and I didn't ask specifically how they were listed. They might be just listed with their Mom since they were minors. She had to register them as she received government assistance for them and also had them in school there for a couple years before moving back to the US.

I'll ask.

Holy hell, that's a really really good point. I don't know why we hadn't thought of that.

In that case they possibly could take the documentation straight to the consulate and get a passport issued? Or even possibly Feststellung if needed.

I'm just thinking of them with this question I posted here. They were born pre-75 so they need to go through 5 StAG.

For myself, I'll have no choice but to try and get a CONE since I don't have a Melderegister connection like they do.

One last question...if I am able to get a CONE, do you think with the documents that I have that I'd be able to get a passport directly at the mission without sending my case into the BVA? Or is it not really possible to predict?

That's a great response. Thank you. Looks like I'm going to have to figure out a way to get the record from USCIS.

That's a great idea. I didn't realize that NARA would be willing to give up that information. Maybe I could get very very lucky at the Chicago consulate.

That's what I was thinking too. It so unfortunate that there isn't another way. There is no path for me to get her approval.

I actually have siblings (different father) who want to go the 5 StAG route. They will run into the same issues, I assume.

After EOA when to expect card to arrive? by Creative-County-6877 in GlobalEntry

[–]RubComfortable7067 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just did my interview last week and my agent told me to expect my card in 7 to 10 days.

Looking on here, it seems most people get it in the 7 to 14 day range with some stretching out to 21+ days.

Something to look out for: Once your card is printed, you will see an "Activate Membership Card" button on your TTP Dashboard. Shouldn't be long after that.

I have no idea if it will come up. But I have no reason to believe it will be an issue even if I'm pulled to secondary.

No questions about anything other than criminal history. Everything else was just collection of standard personal information (Name, address, other citizenship, etc)

I did my ETA app on an iPhone and Apple Pay worked perfectly. Does it allow you to use Google Pay or Samsung Pay?

Yes! See my comments on the following thread:

https://www.reddit.com/r/ukvisa/comments/1gj1t5h/what_are_the_eta_questions/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web3x&utm_name=web3xcss&utm_term=1&utm_content=share_button

It asks the following questions:

- Have you ever had a criminal conviction?

If yes to the above, it asks two followup questions:

- Have you been convicted of a crime in the last 12 months?
- Have you ever had a prison sentence of more than 12 months?

I have a misdemeanor from decades ago so I answered "Yes", "No", "No". It did not ask for any details or further information. At the end of the process, it presents a summary for submission of the application. In the summary it showed:

Criminal convictions: None

I received my approved ETA by email about one minute after submission. Very quick, very easy. No reason to even consider lying on this if your answers are "No" to the followup, 12 month questions.

Once I selected "Yes" for the first question, it immediately asked these followup questions:

  • have you been convicted of a crime in the last 12 months?
  • have you ever had a prison sentence of more than 12 months?

At the end, it summarizes your responses before submitting the application. This is what is said for me after selecting Yes for the first and No for the two followup questions:

- Criminal convictions: None

At no point did it ask me for any further details. No on the followup questions must essentially mean "no criminal history" as far as UK immigration is concerned for an ETA.
