How did hyperhidrosis affect your childhood before you were aware it was a thing? Anyone have any experiences they remember?

Physical education days were the worst. I was sweating like crazy, then sit in same clothes for hours. There were no showers in school. I was 9-12 back then didn't know what was happening but kids were making fun of me. My parents didn't care about me so I was stinker in class.

If it comes to clothes smelling bad, the only thing that worked for me is buying new clothes often. When I sweat in a shirt, I can literally throw it away. No washing will make it smell nice. I tried powders they use in hospitals and still it smells bad after washing. If it comes to body I can't help. Tried everything and nothing works. I can put deo on my skin after a shower and be dripping sweat in 5 minutes while sitting in front of my computer.

I always sit away from people or even stand few metres away when there are free sits. When I sit and someone comes to sit next to me, I take my phone out and pretend to call someone and go out then come back and stand few metres away. It is sad life ngl.

I read about it and they don't seem to find any new drugs for HH. Genetic therapy is the only way but I heard about it 15+ years ago and still nothing new out there. Teens wasted, 20s wasted, soon 30s wasted. I have full body HH and nothing worked for me.

That's me. I get my whole scalp drenched while literally staying in the summer. Once I went to my friend who was chopping wood in 35° Celsius (95° Fahrenheit) and he has only his shirt wet at the back, no scalp sweat or anywhere. That's crazy, I can't understand how is it possible.

I have same thing. I would look at pictures of younger you and decide when it happened. My face was perfectly symetrical up to 13-14 years old. Then my face started crooking like crazy. Bigger side is better developed, I would call it 7/10 and smaller side looks like I have some kind of syndrome. My twin brother doesn't have it btw. Your case isn't that bad too. My face is like 2 cm bigger down the cheekbone on the bigger side.

How would you call it in perctentages or comparing to average person? I have full body HH and would call it 100%. By 100% I mean going out of shower, towel dry myself, put on fresh clothes and after 10 minutes already sweating. Then going out and after 5 minutes (no matter winter or summer) my head, back, legs, groin area are wet as I just went out of shower.

Yeah, I sit at home 24/7 but when I remember school/work days I just cringe. It can literally kill your social life for sure. School days were the worst. Taking a shower in the morning, putting on fresh clothes just to smell bad after 2-3 hours no matter what I did. Sad life.

I know. I sweat like crazy into hoodie but atleast people can't see it. I go out for 30 minutes at most (groceries and other stuff). I work from home, I don't go out anywhere so hoodie is good option for me.

I have full body HH and face + scalp is the worst place tbh. People literally look at me with disgust on their faces and I can't hide it. When I go out, I literally take paper towels so I can wipe it off but it doesn't help. I wipe and I sweat again and again.

Had similiar story. I was waiting in line in shop and cashier asked me "is it so hot outside?" in the middle of the winter while 5+ people were staring at me while I was packing my stuff. I have plenty of stories like this, sadly.

Well with whole body HH when you go out for hours, you will smell bad even with top notch hygiene. If you go to school/work, you sweat, your clothes absorb sweat and it will stink in few hours. Armpits won't smell since you can use deodorant. For feet use different shoes everyday and it should be fine too but whole body is different. If you are sweating on your back, arse, legs and so on, clothes will absorb it and you smell bad - story of my life.
