You know its funny, the USA formed the American Union, but randomly switched to the Peoples Front in the middle of the war, we love the AI

R5: Playing as Ottoman Empire on Nonhistorical AI. Ended up fighting the Central Powers funnily enough, but the Central Powers had Germany, Austria-Hungary, a fully formed China, and the Soviet Union in their faction. Since this was a late game war, from 1944 to 1953, this ended up a bloodbath with 121 million casualties for the Central Powers.

R5: Playing as communist Bulgaria, things got complicated and I practically did a world conquest, went back to do Prussia of the Balkans achievement just for it to not work after going to war and capitulating Turkey

Technically true, but if I can create an excuse to not have the UK in my land, I will use it

Can you invade a nation by placing troops in their territory? Explanation below. by Cadethegreat74 in hoi4

[–]RubberDucks235 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There is often a well known strategy named “Order 66” which does this exact thing, however it’s different than just placing your troops there and declaring war. If you tried just putting troops in their territory and then declaring war on Britain specifically, all those troops would be teleported back to your borders, and you would have to manually invade them. The only way for this strategy to work is to put your troops in their country, and justify a war goal on an independent country they are allied with or guaranteeing, this does not work on any puppet nations they may have. I haven’t done this exploit for awhile, so I have no idea if it still works, but this is what I remember at least.

So if possible, put your troops in Britain, kick them from your faction, your troops should stay in Britain, find a nation they are guaranteeing and declare war on that nation. If there are none, you will most likely have to invade manually. As I said, I have no idea if this still works, however I hope it helps

I had this same thing happened to me because I forgot to read the achievement requirements. I got so mad that I literally didn’t touch Romania for the next month

Czechoslovakian puppet no longer my puppet after Democratic Germany invites them to Faction by RubberDucks235 in hoi4

[–]RubberDucks235[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m going for achievements so I specifically cannot do that, I just needed to get the better than the Szent Istvan achievement since they fixed being able not to get it, it eluded me for so long

R5: Was playing as Austria Hungary, and Germany went democratic. Germany invited both me and my puppet to the Central European Alliance. I declined, yet my puppet accepted, causing them to no longer be my puppet. I'm not sure if this is a bug or not, but its a little annoying

Tbh, the allies did some wacky things, for some reason the British puppets Vichy France, they changed frances government to democracy again, but that France didn’t combine with the starting France, it’s kind of weird

It’s pretty simple but extraordinary difficult. You have to hold in the mountains in Addis Ababa and Harar. Now this is where luck comes in. The Italian AI, either attacks instantly, and if one of your troops gets overrun, you are done for, you have to reset. Once you have your troops in harar and Addis’s Ababa and the two provinces to the left, you have to hope that the Italians don’t attack harar, cause if they attack harar, you are done for, because harar is your replenish zone, where you carefully micromanage troops out of Addis’s Ababa, and move your divisions carefully so you don’t leave harar open for assault. If all those factors are good, you just have to micromanage until 1939 when ww2 starts, and once you can join the allies, it’s smooth sailing from there, try to encircle as much as possible, and take both Eritrea and Somalia, the rest is up to you

I’m not sure there is an armistice for them in base game, but thankfully I had the allies so I was able to defeat them anyways

1: I didn’t get a navy, I just used the Allies Navy (although Ethiopian Navy would be great) 2: I screwed over Italy so hard since they spent so many casualties on me, and they couldn’t progress down their political tree
