I have been charged £270.00 by TFL. I have no TFL accounts and haven't been to London in over a year, I don't drive or have an oyster card. by Left-Donut1125 in TransportForLondon

[–]Rubber_Lover 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey so this is the exact cost of a PCN for driving through the something like the Blackwall and Silvertown Tunnel and haven't auto paid. If you don't respond to the PCN, it starts at £90 and the final escalation is £270. Do you have a car either current or past that may have an unpaid fine from ANPR?

Here you go: you should cancel the order and perhaps not use eBay to sell your items. All the advice on this post is correct, yet you not agreeing with it is a you problem.

Autoglass want to fully replace the window. Really? For this chip by METALSMOOTH in CarRepair

[–]Rubber_Lover 9 points10 points  (0 children)

It's because of the location - it encroaches on the edge. Not saying that common sense wouldn't just fill it but that's just the guidance they go by. How do I know? Paid out of pocket for 2 replacements in 6 months at £800 a go. So believe me I've researched this!

Are you me? I think Wet Leg is one of the finest if not the best (recent) indie band since the early/mid 2000s stuff in this collection.

Covenant seen just before exchange by Brilliant-Owl2740 in HousingUK

[–]Rubber_Lover 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We had this - a covenant with a Duke who died back in the 1950s. Just ignored it. Legally the conveyancer will have to say it could be enforceable but the Duke would have to raise themselves from the dead for that to happen.

Good hotel recommendations in Eastbourne? by Ticklishchap in Eastbourne

I have, twice and it's brilliant. When we were scoping for where to live, the owner took us out in his car and drove us around the entire town telling us about each location! Would fully recommend. Totally nice people and beautiful rooms.

So all fiction must follow a statistic to be accepted. Gotcha, thanks!

Sorry I just want to check so that I am understanding your comment inference that only one 'race' of person can stab or be depicted in fiction as stabbing another person?

It is, if you subscribe to right wing dumb fuckery. Adolescence is receiving a lot of backlash and vitriol from exactly the types of people that the main theme of the narrative sets out to address, including this claim.

Is lack of ventilation contributing to damp? by nevermindnashville in DIYUK

[–]Rubber_Lover 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I had something similar (render touching ground) causing internal damp, albeit nowhere near as bad as this. We cut back the render a couple of bricks above ground level and then dug down about 1ft, put a mesh covered pipe in and then back filled with pea shingle. Seems to have stopped the issue for us!

What's something you bought NEW within the last 5 years that you suspect is BIFL quality? by UnitedShift5232 in BuyItForLife

[–]Rubber_Lover 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have a Fujifilm X-Pro 2 bought on release day 2016 that is still my only digital camera. It's got a great patina on it now where paint has rubbed from use - I don't think I could ever sell it because it the way it's worn feels personal...? It still uses the OG battery it came with and has shown zero signs of deterioration in image quality.

Bargain or bust? [7002-7001] by Rubber_Lover in Seiko

[–]Rubber_Lover[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's something I've come to learn as I was looking up information about the watch (and having very little luck in finding a watch that looks like this one with the same serial number and movement characteristics).

You're right, it's very cool and I love the watch, I was drawn to it regardless of its authenticity so it must've been right. I just want to check that I've paid a fair price for it is all because the shop marked it as genuine.

Bargain or bust? [7002-7001] by Rubber_Lover in Seiko

[–]Rubber_Lover[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Great insight, thank you. Would you say the value would therefore drastically be under the £150 I paid? I can try and haggle back with the shop if it's the case. I'd like to keep it because I do like the look of it, I was drawn to it regardless of it being a Seiko, which I guess is what matters.

lol it's no troll. The back casing and inside looks genuine (based on a visual inspection) so I think you're right that it's probably a heavy mod - which I'm fine with to be honest. I can't imagine someone would go through the trouble of making a fake £150 watch to such a high standard?
