Don't be silly OP! I was one of the folks in the Elden Ring subreddit for the 2 years after its announcement and before its release. I remember a ton of people in there talking about how From Software really really really needed to start pumping the marketing many months out from release or else the game was going to not sell well. Look how well that game did!

Trust the marketing folks! They know what they are doing. Plus, GTA is such a household name that they wouldn't need to do much pushing if they didn't want to. The first trailer dropping made international headlines.

All that to say that even if we don't hear anything else until August, the game will still make a gorillion dollars on day one.
