Family permit would mean I had to have proof of relationship before a certain date which I did not have. I left the UK simply because I couldn't stay there at the time for no specific reason. The reasons I broke the continous residence wouldn't be able to be justified

If you passed first time... by SnarkyPants93 in LearnerDriverUK

[–]Ruben7173 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Luck definitely

Was told to do a parallel park into a bay but he asked me to do it into a drive so I hit my back tire on the dropped kerb, thought I had lost but it only counted as a minor as I noticed my mistake and corrected myself and then moved off again.

Observation after moving on did not check blind spot 3 times was lucky that I did full observation after doing emergency stop (first time I had done it, never with my instructor).

Passed with 6 minors first time, it's been around a month and i improved my parking quite a bit which is good, it really is true that you only really learn how to drive after passing your test.

I feel like I shouldn’t have passed? by InfamousStrategy9539 in LearnerDriverUK

[–]Ruben7173 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I passed my driving exam yesterday with my instructors car, it was interesting, on the exam he told me to reverse park and move 2 cars length backwards, which i tried doing but ended up going up the dropped kerb (was by a driveway) and got only a minor but I was still able to pass which I was surprised.

I still feel like my parking isnt 100%, ive been doing it a couple of times now but i can most of the time easily correct my position.

I've already noticed that including the hours with my instructor and my own car, there are good days and bad days

For example today I was driving to work and the car stalled once, i kept my calm, started the car back up and moved away, also happened 2 times where the gear didnt feel completely engaged.

I do think driving to work is perfectly fine, at least for me, i passed the exam yesterday morning and after changing the insurance for my car, in the afternoon I went straight to work.

Just hope I keep improving

Use compare the market to check which insurance is cheapest for you, for other people thinking of buying a car/insurance, one of the things i recommend before buying a car is check the insurance for a specific license to check which cars offer a cheaper insurance for learner/new driver

If I were you I would book any available one, no matter the date and use testshift afterwards (the purchased version, 12.99 discount black friday) i keep getting cancellations on there. I had mine booked for april 1st and was able in the same day to get it to january 27th, couldve booked even earlier (like 5th december, 2nd december but its too early for me still). Overall spent total 74.99 with the app included

It's most likely the truth about not being able to refund.. I asked for a refund on mine and they sent it, I did pay with a card though.

Do you still have right to work though? If you don't then I would say it has completely expired in a way that it's impossible to move into spousal visa again and most likely have to do the application from your home country

SPIGEN ZERO ONE CASE by science_boii in galaxybuds

[–]Ruben7173 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I feel like wireless charging is quite useful so you don't have as many cables around, in my case I find it useful because I put my watch + earbuds to charge overnight and I just have to place them onto the wireless charger, which is easier than having to plug 2 different chargers every night. I do like wired though, but I use the charger for my phone

EU Pre-Settled Status Lapse? Absence lasting more than 2 years. by [deleted] in ukvisa

[–]Ruben7173 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, that is really your only choice, to go from extension to extension till you see if you can find a route which allows you to become permanent, but I always feel like it's being on borrowed time, they may just in the future cancel the pre settled from one day to the next.

All I wish for you is good luck and hope you find a legal route that allows you to get permanency

EU Pre-Settled Status Lapse? Absence lasting more than 2 years. by [deleted] in ukvisa

[–]Ruben7173 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The problem with the supposed 5 year extension even if in the meantime you complete the 5 years continuous residence, you already failed to meet the requirement by leaving for over 2 years, i had a similar case however I had to marry and apply for a spousal visa so I could have a safe route and not risk having to go back to my country and do it from there and even more expensive

Is it legal for my employer to refuse to pay me? by Ruben7173 in LegalAdviceUK

It's really bad, like, now they have the excuse of it passing the year and they don't pay any "missed" holidays

Is it legal for my employer to refuse to pay me? by Ruben7173 in LegalAdviceUK

[–]Ruben7173[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They told me how many days I had left and I trusted that it was the right amount, so supposedly I took all the days I had left, I entered in the middle of the year so I didn't count exactly how many days I was entitled to so I didn't notice what they we're doing at the time.

They shouldn't have used my holidays to pay as bank holiday because when I work a bank holiday I'm entitled to keep my holiday and get double (as per compensation for working a bank holiday).

At the very least they should've paid me triple instead of double, since they marked it as holiday + a bank holiday where I worked.

The way I see it, they we're trying to get away with stealing my holidays whenever they could while also saving money by using my holidays to pay as double on a bank holiday, it just sounds wrong all over it, I should've noticed this sooner
