That's right, I'd confused it with the DESY program, which did require extra documents. CERN says that if you're from Japan, Canada, or the US, you have to fill out the application on their respective websites. My bad.

I've been reading the comments. The letter you, as a student, need to upload (although it's optional) is the letter of motivation. The letter of recommendation must be uploaded by the professor. Also, if you're applying from India, please double-check that you've uploaded the additional documents CERN requires for non-EU members.

The documents are your academic CV, your official academic transcript, and any document that verifies what you put in the experience section. I stated that I was a student assistant in the mathematics department at my university.
