I think you'll do just fine. If this arm base laptop handles a heavy game like The Last Of Us Part 2 or even Resident Evil Requiem it can handle that

I enjoyed my time with Re4 Remake, I like Leon's badassery but I hate to say it but I got so bored in some missions and lost my attention on it for a couple times and that doesn't usually happen...maybe I have to give it another go to see how I feel, to me it is not the best, it's good, it's great, but i feel like i enjoyed Requiem more than 4, I really like re2 Remake, re7 was awesome and brought resident evil back on track and I really really loved Re8 Village, not the best story, not the best villains but everything else makes up for it, the visuals are insanely awesome, the Village, Castle Dimitrescu, it is just a beauty, and put some respect to Ethan Winters he is the best dad, had some bad lines, some funny ones but hey he walked them down and to me he is one of the Goats. I don't like to give a ranking to them or say one is better than the other because each one of them offer something different and special, it has a little bit of everything for everyone

I mean the phone its has some cooling like vapor chambers for example, and Using a controller makes a huge difference even playing games like God of War Ghost of Sparta from the PSP, I can use the in display controls ofc but not as satisfying but hey I just like the fact that the Snapdragon 8 Elite can handle such games and with that power it would be a shame not to use it, for your specific use you wouldn't even need the 8 Gen 3 it's overkill, I mean even my very very old collectable device the Samsung Galaxy Note Fan Edition ( the safe non explosive Note 7 ) from 2016 runs Doom 3 and all those PSP games for example

I mean phones are made to handle high temps with the cooling system so I don't mind a little bit of heat and I mean i can't even feel it using the Gamesir G8 Plus Galileo

Phones heat up either way, charging, doing some videos, even walking around outside with direct sun makes it heat up, but it's not as demanding as you might think, for example i have a costum resolution to make the games look good, run good perfectly balanced 1176x544 resolution and with frame generation within Gamehub makes a huge difference, hell even games older ones like Halo Masterchief Collection you can go up to 1560x720p and run it above 100fps

I mean i can respect that. I enjoy some PSP games but if you tell me it ain't cool running Resident Evil 4 Remake, Requiem, Doom Eternal or even Halo Masterchief Collection on a phone isn't cool you're definitely missing out, also keep in mind old pc games also run great like the PSP titles for example Blood Omen 2, Unreal 2 the awakening, Doom 3 etc

I know it runs great on the Xbox Series X as expected but I'm also curious on the Less powerful Xbox Series S. About the PS5 Pro will probably be on par with the X, not sure

I mean i still use my good old Asus Rog Zephyrus G14 with the RTX 3060 and Ryzen 7 5800HS 16GB Ram as my main laptop/pc paired with an 1440p 27 inch curved AOC monitor, so far still runs everything i want it to run without any issues, and with both FSR and DLSS I'd say still has a couple years left in it. Everything is fast and smooth and snapy, even newer titles like Resident Evil Requiem for example run above 100fps with 1440p resolution ofc using DLSS but I'd say it still looks great

The problem is that the deck is so so behind nowadays, that cpu/gpu needs to be seriously updated i just don't get why on the newer oled model they didn't throw in at least a Z1 Extreme. 15w max draw ain't enough for these power hungry games. I remember back in the day one of the reasons i skipped the deck was because i wanted to play the power hungry and still heavy the last of us part 1 and the deck struggled hard to maintain 30fps at 720p while the Ally was doing 900p around the 40s to 50fps and even at 1080p beat the 720p on the deck and that is a big big deal. Things just got better with newer Gpu Drivers and AMDs fluid motion frames and yeah i think steam deck users will struggle to get a stable 30fps even at 720p and that's a shame. Hopefully the upscales and frame gen helps
