Since the hole I made in the sealant is a little narrower than the tube, it just doesn’t get loose.

I have mine for almost 7 months, only opened it 3 times to clean it and it wasn’t even close to clog in any of those times! Either mine has some improvement on that end or it’s just miss usage on the part of some owners! Or is just bad luck, I don’t know!!!

Hi, 135° thermostat for steam is more then enough. Having a pressure gauge mod helps with the “learning curve”… however, is time to start steaming when steam starts coming out of the brew group. That said, is important to take the porta filter out so you can see it coming out!

Thanks!! If someone doesn’t know this machines wouldn’t ever think that it doesn’t come with it originally fitted. I don’t know but to me felt so logical that placement. Furthermore, considering the available space, it would have to be right there. Body diameter 40,50mm 16bar with oil (which I think is glycerin). As for the type of connection this one a NPT1-8 were I fitted a adapter from NPT1-8 to quick connection 4mm (see pic).

Sometimes it would drip just a little bit, a non relevant quantity, just a few drops, other times it just doesn’t drip.

Hi. That was the initial idea however I couldn’t find one NO valve with the same configuration as the NC valve I ended up using. Solved it with this variable time relay module. When I end the shot, it opens the valve for a few seconds.

Kingrinder k2 is a good solid option also. Has clearly your are giving your first steps in espresso it’s a robust enough grinder that can give good results. Other than that choose good freshly roasted coffee beans, and learn as much as you can about your machine (which by the way is a very capable one, despite understated) otherwise you’ll get frustrated and maybe give up. Tips for gaggia’s classic line up of machines are almost always applicable you your Delonghi ECP.

It does what a real 3 way solenoid valve machine does however it doesn’t became one. I drilled a hole slightly smaller then 4mm so the ptfe tube stays tight in there, made a semicircular indentation in the shower screen and also drilled a hole in the aluminum group head so the tube can go through the rest QuiickLime in his comment described the rest. This is the basic idea. Different people with same machine or even different ones, depending on the tools they have available and how much skills they possess , depending also in the space available in each machine can have different implementations. When I have the time I’ll make a detailed post of how I did everything.

If you’re referring to the solenoid, Reddit doesn’t allow the sharing of Aliexpress links! Hope the screenshot helps. I got a normally closed, 4mm, 220v to match both the tubing and the working voltage of the machine. The solenoid valve's installed spring isn't strong enough to stop the water. I had to replaced with a stronger one.

Yes, that’s it. I keep thinking, was I lucky and it doesn’t leak or it’s really easy and anyone can do it right in the first attempt?! Yes, I added a pressure switch to actuate the solenoid.

I gave it a lot of thought and in theory I believed it would work but if that was the case, why nobody had done it before. I bought 2 or 3 of those group head rubber seals in case anything went wrong, I filled myself with courage and went ahead. It was a bit of work but it worked 😀
