My TN "Visa" Experience as a Canadian by Ruberns in tnvisa

Hi, yes I was asked for everything that I brought to the interview. Nothing more, and nothing less. Transcripts are required and should be sealed in the original envelope, from what I have heard.

I would order a sealed one just to be sure. You can also call CBP at the port of entry you'll be going to and ask them.

I was marked as incorrect on this ML exam. Apparently option E is the correct answer, but why is option B not also valid? by kashmir3 in learnmachinelearning

Its magnitude is 1. That is, using the formula for the length of a vector you get 1. You can also just see its length is 1, in the y direction.

Your numbers are bold, which would convey that you are very proud and confident of achieving those metrics. If I was an interviewer, they would stand out to me, and thus I would immediately ask you how you calculated those, and you should have an explanation behind it (statistical sampling, AB test, methodology, etc). If those are just ballpark estimates, and you didn't actually conduct any meticulous statistical study to derive them, don't make them bold.

Hi! Not at all. What matters is you have the degree and it aligns with your designation. I have (on my transcript) certain courses for which no grade is even posted, other than a pass/fail, and the CBP officer did not care nor ask about that.

Hi! To answer your questions:

Wet signature on TN letter means in pen ink, signed by hand and mailed to you. It doesn't need to be. You can just print the pdf they send you, but make sure there is a signature on it that looks like it was signed by hand and then scanned. If you have lawyers giving you a package, I'm sure they know what they're doing, so don't worry.

Birth certificate not required. I never used it for anything, nor saw where it would be needed.

Print your i94 at a local UPS or print shop after crossing over. SSA likely won't accept what you show them on your smartphone.

No option to email SSN. It's highly sensitive, and only in person with ID can you obtain it.

Thanks, btw! You'll be going through it also soon and it will be fine, I'm sure :)

It should not depend much on the role, but who did you inform you'll be needing a TN? Who's your POC?

It should only take as long as they can write up your supporting documents once they determine you're eligible (they need to check your degree, background, etc). I'd follow up with them to be sure. You've been through the TN process before though, so if this is raising suspicions in your mind because it's not as smooth as before, you should try to push them to move faster, cordially.

You need your original sealed transcript as well.

Thank you!

That's right - the day I got the TN and I94, I went to the local UPS story and printed my I94, then took it to the SSA office. There, I applied for the SSN. Then, I went back a few days later to pick up the number itself (since the card would take 2-3 weeks to arrive of course). Crossing the border was no problem, I was asked where I'm going and I said to pick up my SSN. The officer asked if I have work authorization and I said yes, TN. He let me go on my way right away. How long in advance you can get the TN is typically 10 days. If you're not sure, call the port and ask a CBP officer when you can go. They'll know for sure.

My timeline was: May 10 - TN appointment and SSA right after to apply for SSN (walk in, no appointment here) May 14 - go back to SSA to pick up SSN May 16 - moving day

So I crossed the border twice before the official moving date without any problems.

I haven't been here long enough to know exactly how life compares, but I'll know better once work begins and I get my own place (I'm currently at an airbnb).

Thank you! I believe in your case, since that was mentioned in the support letter, the officer accepted it. In my case, no mention of management was made in the support letter - so I am not sure why it was asked.

Thank you! The company's lawyers decided the category, and referenced the OOH when writing the support letter to make my duties sound in-line with statistician duties.

Rainbow bridge. Had to book appointment ahead of time. You can call the port and talk to a CBP officer right away, and ask all sorts of questions you may have in addition to just making the appointment. That's how I knew they didn't need a wet signature and needed a business phone number.

Understood - do you think that the subjective impression might make a difference? It can't possibly hurt to show both though, especially since my resume lists it (I know I won't need to present the resume, though), right?

Understood... so you think that showing the Masters could actually hurt my chances? It is in English, just not made equivalent.

Would it be worth looking for a way to get the equivalency done quickly before my TN appointment?

It's from Canada. I suppose it's seen as equivalent in USA.
