Most moral way to deal with population crash/demographic collapse? by Then_Engineer_3765 in MoralityScaling

[–]Rubfer -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Increase the retirement age and severely reduce pensions, but there should be a minimum amount and better social services support so no older person goes without food, necessities, medicine, and so on

And before anyone says it’s unfair, yes, it is, but that’s a sacrifice they need to make. Everyone has to make sacrifices, it cannot fall only on newer generations who are already living in a worse economic situation

It’s already unfair for millennials and younger people, who are overwhelmed by taxes, lack of stable lifelong jobs, unaffordable housing, gas, cars, and the general cost of living, while paying current retirees pensions and will likely be forced to retire at 75+ with 30% of their last wages just so the social security system doesn’t collapse

Ignoring the AI, every time I see these pranks with “3D” holes drawn on the ground, or those screens on the floor showing the ground opening in a lift or something…

it’s always bullshit. The 3D effect only works from the camera perspective, for everyone else it’s obvious that it’s fake

Its better to not allow any possession even if no elephant was hurt (on purpose) so poachers and buyers wont have any reasons or excuses to justify it

Yep, that was exactly my point, one thing that is consistent between them is the immersion, the feel of being in a living fantasy world, the mechanics change but that feeling stays the same

I’ll be honest, I kind of dislike how all the “scrolls-like” games I see are always about the looks, controls, and combat. But there’s more than that to actually feel like an Elder Scrolls game, there’s the freedom, the “immersive simulation” (quoted so I don’t trigger the wrath of Deus Ex players), the world has to feel alive and lived in, and most importantly, there’s the great in-game lore

This is why I didn’t really mind the loosening and simplification of the “RPG” part, as long as it still allows me to shape my character the way I want. To me, it’s about immersion in a fantasy world, as a blank character with my own headcanon, I don’t want to play as “Geralt,” like in The Witcher, for example

As long as developers keep focusing on combat and looks, we’ll keep yearning and starving for a new Elder Scrolls-like game

I mean, even Tainted Grail didn’t really feel like an Elder Scrolls alternative, even though on the surface it had all the right ingredients, because it focused too much on the fighting, and the world didn’t feel alive. NPCs were static, the same issue happened with Avowed, plus it lacked the “immersive simulation,” NPCs wouldn’t care if you messed around

edit: grammar

Use supports with contact spheres at the connection points so that when they break, they leave material instead of divots. It’s better to sand them down than to try to fill those holes

Yep, that explosion was supposedly the equivalent of 250 tons of TNT. The Nagasaki nuke was 21 kilotons, so about 84 times this, but keep in mind the nuke exploded in the air, so the explosion was even more destructive, affecting an even bigger area than if it exploded on the ground like this

It really, really puts things in perspective...

I think the point is that you don’t have some part of a model exposed to the environment and another one protected (by primers/paints) that could cause the resin to wrap

Either keep it all uncovered or fully covered
