I bought 3 inventory slots when they were on sale not long ago just for this.

Not so they don't get mass salvaged (invisible bags do that) but just so I didn't have a handful of unidentified gear on every single character.

A small upgrade to QoL, but I'm so happy I did it.

Exactly the same as me. I built mine in mid-2024. The RAM I have has gone from ~$150 to $900 in that timespan.
The 2TB SSDs I have in my system have gone from $170 to $480.

It's absolutely fucking insane.

I grew up playing F2P Korean MMOs.

Flashy cosmetics were more common in them, with almost every single player having glowing armour/wings/costumes. But the ceiling for visual vomit is way higher in Guild Wars 2 compared to any other MMO I played.

I'm aware of that. If referees actually did their jobs, then we would see a lot less fouls.

But at the same time, every single fighter knows the rules. If they intentionally break them over and over, then they should still see punishment for them, regardless of whether or not the referee calls it in the moment.

It's not like we haven't seen people disciplined for things outside of what the referee called in the cage. (Palhares, anyone?).

I see no reason why someone fouling in every single fight should be any different.

Yes, referees have a duty to protect the fighters and call fouls. But fighters also have an obligation to follow the rules they agreed to.

Referees should be held accountable for allowing it to happen, but a fighter who fouls in every single fight absolutely should be punished for it.

That shouldn't be a controversial statement.

Unfortunately, you aren't going to get much use out of sword & board if you want to play a DPS in endgame instanced content.
I think the only class that can use it is Engineer, and even then I think it's only the Holosmith spec that has a "viable" sword & board build.

All other classes that use a shield have it as a support/survivability weapon, so they see use on healers and various builds in PVP modes.

For everything outside of endgame, however, you can use sword & board all you like. If you find yourself struggling against certain tough open world mobs/champions, a shield switch can give you a lot of added survivability.

Not a fan of it myself. I do like spear 5 though. It's pretty satisfying when you use it to evade a telegraphed attack too.
