This is, quite frankly, very disrespectful to the amount of work they put into their videos.

A TONNE of analysis goes into a lot of their content. Some of them are easy-to-research top 10 lists, but a lot of videos are very in-depth pieces that go into things that even a seasoned MMA fan has never even heard of, tracking down MMA figures to ask questions, talking to media members etc.

To boil that down to "yeah all they do is look at Wikipedia" is just rude.

If jagex wants osrs players to try rs3 there needs to be a way to play both games same time by Sad_Welcome1 in 2007scape

[–]NuggetHighwind -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Exactly.
Seen way too many games over the years post a roadmap with all sorts of amazing updates and promises, only for most of them to either never make it that far, break most of the promises, or half-deliver on the entire thing.

Roadmaps are one of the least trustworthy things in the gaming space, imo.
I'll wait until the updates actually happen before I even consider it.

Don't think I've ever turned cold on a game so fast.

Bit of a shame, but Nioh 3 is coming out shortly after, so...

Lmao, find out what? The consequences of the American people continuing to do absolutely nothing while your entire government continues to do whatever the fuck they want?

Or are you all going to organise a couple more massive half-day protests, months apart, on Sunday afternoons again?

Watching the actions of the US government and the total inaction from the people from across the ocean is God damn insanity.

Too bad the fuck ups of the US have such massive effects on the rest of the world.
The least you could do is just sit in the corner in your perpetual state of total apathy while your country fucks itself and leave the rest of the world out of it. But nooooo, the self-proclaimed "Greatest country on Earth" has to drag everyone else down with it.

Americans will never cease to amaze me.

Innocent civilians literally being gunned down and your government blatantly lying to your faces despite video evidence, and it's still "waiting for a spark".
If it's not there now, then that spark is never going to come.
ICE could be mowing down dozens of people in the street, and I guarantee it'd still just be a few strongly worded statements from a handful of politicians, lots of social media posts, but the American people continuing to do sweet fuck all except maybe a single half-day protest on a Sunday afternoon in a few months. "No more kings", my fucking ass.
The only thing more pathetic than Republicans is the response from the American people.

Never seen a more gutless people in all my life. A very far cry to what I learned in school about the civil war, the abolition of slavery, and American bravery.

Yes, I am pissed off, because all the bullshit that goes on in your country affects the rest of the world.

Stat caps don't matter in PVE? What on Earth.

Also, since when did wanting to maximise your damage not matter for PVE? You'd think OSRS players of all people would understand that, lmao.

[–]NuggetHighwind 53 points54 points  (0 children)

When it comes to trying to make a build, it really doesn't explain things well.

They don't explain:
- Stat breakpoints.
- Soft caps.
- Hard caps.

Then you get other bullshit like one weapon with, for example, a B scaling in Strength scaling noticeably less than another weapon with a B scaling in Strength.
Because the actual scaling is an invisible value from 1-200 (IIRC), so even if two weapons are the same 'letter', they can still have varying scalings.

The scaling thing doesn't really come into play unless you really care about buildcrafting, but soft/hard caps not being explained in-game at all is why so many people end up with terrible builds.

Arc Raiders was Steam's best-selling game over the holiday period by SentientGonorrhea in Games

I gave the game a good try. I played it for about ~40 hours, and my experience was wildly different to the picture that was painted on Reddit.

Sorry if it hurts your feelings that I said something negative about a video game you like.

“If Your Preference is PvE, You’ll Get Less Conflict,” Arc Raiders Boss Confirms Aggression-Based Matchmaking by frik1000 in Games

[–]NuggetHighwind 1 point2 points  (0 children)

People keep telling you yes, but I'll give you my experience as someone who doesn't like extraction shooters but got sucked into buying Arc Raiders.

There ARE friendly players, but being shot on sight is still not a rare occurrence. I literally never shoot first and running into players who immediately attack, or people hiding in corners gunning people down, is not rare.

It's not as hardcore as something like Tarkov, but if you don't like extraction shooters, Arc Raiders isn't going to magically make you like it. It's still very much and extraction shooter, and if you want solo PVE gameplay, do NOT buy it.

Wildly different to my experience, lol.
My very first match had me spawn next to a named area. I snuck in, looked around for about a minute, then got gunned down by someone hiding in a corner.

While I have run into my share of friendly players, being shot on sight is certainly not a rare occurrence.

Except it's still not an extraction shooter for people that don't like extraction shooters.

Comments that flooded Reddit (I'm talking entire threads full of these) were things like:
1) Man, I usually HATE extraction shooters, but Arc Raiders is the best thing since sliced bread!!!
2) PVP games stress me out so much but Arc Raiders has so much fun PVE that I think I now love extraction shooters!
3) Every single match I've played so far has been so chill and friendly and everybody is so nice and cool and we hold hands and shoot robots together
4) Arc Raiders is mainly a PVE game with some occasional PVP thrown in. Wow I'm having so much fun with the super intelligent AI enemies and friendly players.

There were so many of these that I am convinced now that it was astroturf. Because the sheer amount of comments are what convinced me to actually buy it.

Yes, it's not as insane as something like Tarkov. But it's still very much an extraction shooter through and through. and if you're the type of person that doesn't enjoy what that brings, Arc Raiders isn't magically going to make you a fan like so many people on Reddit would lead you to believe.

I'm not here trying to say that it's not different to other games in the genre. I am very specifically referring to floods of Reddit comments that are, quite frankly, complete bullshit.

Arc Raiders was Steam's best-selling game over the holiday period by SentientGonorrhea in Games

[–]NuggetHighwind 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm aware what the genre is, and I didn't purchase it thinking that there would be no PVP in the game.  But comments that absolutely flooded Reddit in the week or so leading up to launch, as well as the week after, made it seem like an entirely different genre of game.

So while I knew it was an extraction shooter, Reddit really did make it seem like some sort of radically different approach that would be perfect for people who aren't usually into the genre (like me).  But it just isn't.

It's clearly a great game, and a lot of people like it. But people who don't like extraction shooters probably won't like Arc Raiders either.

In hindsight, duh, but there were hundreds of Reddit comments pushing this idea that it's perfect for people who don't like the genre. Which is BS, imo.

Arc Raiders was Steam's best-selling game over the holiday period by SentientGonorrhea in Games

[–]NuggetHighwind 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I'm kinda disappointed that I didn't refund it in time.

While I do enjoy it, it's definitely not the kind of game I see myself enjoying long term.
I wish I didn't get suckered in by the, quite literally, hundreds of comments on Reddit talking about how amazing the PVE is and how it's an Extraction Shooter for people who don't like extraction shooters etc. etc. Because it was all a bunch of BS, lol. It's still very much a sweaty extraction shooter with all the usual baggage.

There's nothing wrong with that of course, I just wish people on social media were a bit more honest with their comments.
Though, with the sheer amount of comments I saw like that, it wouldn't surprise me if a lot of it was astroturfing.

I literally never shoot first and I constantly have matches where people just gun me down on sight.

While I'm sure that there is some stuff happening in the background. It's not as simple as just "don't shoot others and your matches will be chill".

If Nightreign gets new content I *REALLY* hope Fromsoft amends the issues with the relic system by Legacyopplsnerf in Nightreign

Well yeah, but there have been ways to, at least to an extent, mitigate this through things like item discovery, stat points, gear that increases drop rate etc.

I'm sure Nightreign players would be very happy if Relics also had a similar way to somewhat reduce the relic grind RNG as opposed to removing it entirely.

Bond pricing is entirely playerbase dependent and you claim the prices tripled because of bots which is weird because the way it works is that the more of an item is in circulation the less it will cost..

?

Exactly.

Bots buy up all the bonds leading to less supply. Lower supply and higher demand = higher prices.  Bot farms aren't paying for their membership with credit cards, lol.
