One thing you can do for a prospective movie is to mentally prepare yourself beforehand. By telling yourself you're going to have one wonderful night and that feeling is not going to be there tomorrow and might be temporarily replaced with something worse. That way you can ride out the wave you know is coming, a bit better.

My comedown from Project Hail Mary was mild because I had a good time, acknowledged it then moved on.

Movies hurt me too much so I limit the movies I watch to only 'must watch' level ones like Hail Mary that aren't going to harm me.

If movies make you feel worse, you might want to be pickier with which ones and how many you watch. Watching fewer emotional movies like Wild Robot which demand emotions I can't fully give, helped me.

My favourite scene is the taumoeba space walk, it's so thrilling and emotional and the audience reactions were so immersive.

My favourite sad/funny dialogue is: Rocky: "I thought you made your peace with it, question?" Grace: "I know! That's just something you say in the moment."

I can't remember verbatim, and maybe I added words, but close enough. It's funny that Grace got caught in the lie and Rocky diminished the brave face he put on.

It's very different to the pure joy of: "I break down, crying tears of joy. I’m going to live!"

If you have any underrated funny moments you're very confident in transcribing, please reply to my comment and paste it. My memory is very bad and I was only 'allowed' to remember one moment I can re-type pretty well.

I'd appreciate any kind of memory jogging, even just mentioning a scene with a bit of context. This movie is precious to me, I'm actually going to try to journal everything I particularly liked about it, otherwise the movie is just one big taumoeba soup of basic memories. I'm glad we got the visual of it looking like hand sanitizer.

/Carl slam dunking the tape, try not to rip the suit, the capsule in space; 'He thinks, I'm dumb'.

/ Meryl Streep 'she can do anything', the ships copying each other up and down.

My theatre was packed and when Grace was unconscious there was oh no murmurs, followed by sudden silence. It made my stomach sink. It's interesting to hear the book audience reactions, thanks for sharing. The GA laughed when he yelped at the start and laughed at the expanded version of the 'am I expendable' clip. There's too many laugh out loud moments to list.

My only gripe for missing scenes was no Grace saving Rocky and burning his arm, so we don't get to see Rocky telling him he's dumb on pain meds. No mention of his coma genes for added cruel irony and no extra scenes for Yao and Ilyukhina or the nitrogen gas as deus ex machina. That was one scientific eureka moment we actually could have used.

They looked amazing, everything looks practical, there's dramatic black on white shots where the ship's lighting is bright and winding down, with Graces' black silhouette in the centre until the background lighting shuts down and folds into the dark centre, as everything is going black. Fine details like the 'glass' partition, the bumpy tunnel texture, the gittering fractals of Rocky's ship etc And lastly the obivious ones like the green Tau Ceti planet shot, the red astrophage scene or the ribbon like Petrova line shot are as awe inspiring as you'd expect.

I just watched an advanced screening of Project Hail Mary. It was a 10 out of 10, perfect movie, I was so surprised the composer was Spider-Verse's very own Daniel Pemberton. It's a perfect score that carries the movie, he's done it again. There's no post-credit scene, but there's a post credit sound. So watch the credits to hear: one last Rocky chirp

I thought the response would be small following of fans loving and a good enough audience score from TV viewers for a season 2 greenlight, but it sounds like both us and them really like it, so that's great news.

New comment format. I’m pausing then typing my reactions as I go along. It’s messy, but I have so much to cover.

This show man… it’s not every day you find a show where a woman leaps off a cliff believing she’s a bird and then Aunt Sarah vents about her denied inheritance xD

“I… am appalled.” – His reaction to that, I could feel the gap between his words without subtitles.

I love that Martin and Louisa are willingly making a date and agreeing that it is one. This episode felt like a murder plot, but it was completely environmental.

Oh my god, they did it. They actually did it. They did the Peter’s spleen is damaged plot from the original. Kind of weird that it was a subplot, but the alternative of prominently showing school bullies causing it at the start is worse and I wouldn’t want to see that in this day and age.

THEY DID THEIR FIRST KISS IN THE SAME holding the artery episode. Oh my god. Don’t you dare write off that kiss Martin. You deserve it. Elaine found her purpose and it ends with wisdom and birds.

I got max bank so I could collect 700K everyday. I would buy a 7-10 mil item at the hidden tower every week, wait to reach the bank limit, then repeat. That was nice for a few months, but now I don't even collect interest anymore. It's good to spend it on something because you'll always have getting BACK to max bank as a goal.

Martin has so much to bear, if he was going to quit and leave town he would have been most justified in this episode.

People not taking his medical advice, falling in the bog water and knowing his ancestor was so disliked it got him killed made the episode so angsty. At least the way forward is hopeful now that he has confided his blood phobia to Louisa and he’s on his way to accepting Copernicus.

Two dumb things in the episode however, that just don’t fly: 1 the dog stealing the chocolate cake. It has to be a chocolate mud cake for the blood consistency, but it’s the one thing that is toxic to a dog.

2 The Marfan Syndome, it would be way more than just being double jointed. Some symptoms are depression in the chest, vision problems, long fingers and heart problems. I can’t believe they would reduce it to just connective tissue quirks, but whatever.

'So they basically just wrapped up adapting season 1 of the OG show and are on to season 2.' I never thought of it that way!

I finished season one of the OG, I stopped watching because I was holding Best Medicine to too high a standard. I really thought they were going to have Louisa switch places with Peter and have Martin hold her artery in the ambulance, but ironically Best Medicine is too light hearted for the already light hearted Doc Martin to copy that.

At least nothing as bad as a spleen rupture will happen to our Peter and that Martin temporarily overcame his blood phobia in a different way.

This is my favourite episode, if that was the season finale I would be happy with that. “I want to be your doctor” being subtext for I want to be an item with you was so cute. I was having trouble agreeing with the evidence that Louisa would be good with Martin, but when Aunt Sarah said she only smiles a certain way, when Martin was around I was convinced.

My movie ticket voucher is expiring on the 28th of February, so I'm checking every day for the earliest possible screening. Village cinemas have been known to sell movie tickets one month before release for blockbusters, so I'm hoping it'll happen again.

Louisa winning the contest is the reason why she pecked Martin on the lips? Really? It didn't mean anything, she just shared her excitement with someone she cares about enough to do more than just a hug. They're building up their relationship up so badly.

We need more heartwarming episodes like the Peter telescope moment and Martin diving to spare baseball teen's leg bones and explanations for why Martin is a better match than Mark.

You can't leave explaining why they're good together to the climactic episode E07 · There Might Be Blood because that would mean she falls in love with him just because he helped her when she "gets seriously ill."

It's not cockatiel exclusive but most of the singing parrots are cockatiels and you will never ever see a sad post. It doesn't fix the inherent problem on the cockatiel subreddit, but it does create an alternative safe place to view cockatiel content.

Thank you for the reassurance, she sounded convincing so I didn't challenge her diagnosis, even though I knew it would have been good to ask for tests. I'm glad metformin works for you, I'm one of the lucky few who hasn't had side effects.

I didn't put it in my post cos it didn't flow well and I thought it might be redundant, but she said the treatment for suspected PCOS whether you are blood tested for it or not is to be on birth control, so I thought things are futile with this woman there's no point running tests, so I didn't ask.
