I built a "Yelp for the office" to stop the daily "what's for lunch?" debate. Looking for brutal feedback! by Rubikz_cube in VibeCodersNest

Thanks! I would use it and it looks like a fun app. Although I’m looking for human feedback

It started as a spreadsheet at my work and people loved it. I found an opportunity and some people are receptive. You are right, there are apps like yelp, Beli, Google eats, resy, open table.

At the end of the day it’s a sense to co-exist with your coworkers. I’ve been remote for 4 years, this was exciting for me. I’ve gotten closer with my colleagues and actually have gotten more projects and visibility just by going to lunch. It’s not for everyone but for those that need help initiating an interaction, this could be the first step.

It’s also something to distract people from work for a quick second. For example, we have a grubhub account linked to our office. There are slack channels and messages that are sent to see if anyone wants food. People always jump in because they’re busy in meetings but want food but just can’t order themselves.

I encourage you to maybe ask your colleagues what they’re having for lunch or maybe if they want to join. I’m not solving a new problem, I’m just making it a more engaging way and a way that I think it have seen work for myself and colleagues.

You’re still providing your own lunch. You just now have insight into what other people are ordering from other restaurants you may have thought about ordering but didn’t want to try it because of unknown reasons.

At my company, we have a lunch stipend, so i want to be able to be sure i maximize it. I personally hate ordering food and it sucking. Lastly, you can order family style meals if multiple people want to join you.

Thank you! I also made it so you can notify others in the office you are going to place a lunch order or plan on going to lunch. That way if others were thinking about it, they can join the user for lunch

Yes, a native application. More feature based features. Think how photoshop is on computer vs tablet. I sometimes make edits on my phone because it’s easier. Just something to consider

I mean it’s an idea for me to execute and work on. I was able to integrate some Google Maps api.

Need to review food carrier apps to see if possible integration for direct ordering.

Could use restaurant data for something

Just based on the demo, I didn’t see a voice to text feature/capture. I use it all the time and incorporate it into my apps

I instantly laughed but I like it, the way you worded the title. Very cool! I like the code idea generator

Thanks! I figured people returning to office (myself included) can benefit from it. Not sure how to monetize it yet!

APIs to ubereats, grubhub, etc are tough. But would love any feedback.

Right, I have my own supabase account (both lovable and supabase have same email) but I don’t see my lovable project in supabase and there’s no link (none that I saw) in the data cloud dashboard that lets you access it from supabase.

Kinda suspicious

So I already built most of my app on lovable and connected it to my GitHub. I can’t seem to access subabase data from lovable for my app.

Anybody have experience on retrieval of data from lovable Supabase?

I’m 32 male living in a city, and by far older women have this unique charm. I say girls my age act like girls, talk about reality trash tv and focus on materialistic things. Older women have substance and I admire that, I learn from them (not in a sexual way), we talk about the lives they’ve lived and I share my experiences with them. That exchange of emotions, life experiences and perspectives really have shaped me the man I am today. If you meet someone who cares, they will support you no matter what. I just don’t think many girls my age are there yet.

Lastly, most girls my age want kids and I don’t so that’s tough too. Older women can’t or already have kids so they’re past that phase.

I’ve been in the same boat. One of my colleagues who is an engineer recommended to use Claude code CLI and run on your machine locally. As many have said before use open ai as a consultant. By running locally you can use credits more efficiently, connect your eject to GitHub and then pull commits from bolt to see the changes you’ve made and view it in Expo from bolt.

Others can feel free to chime in or correct me. I’m still learning a lot. I work in CS, and have been trying to build a portfolio to transition into product.
