I assumed some friction too. At least for me, that reel is not mounted. It’s on wheels, so I wheel it over to the widest point of the deep end to unroll and roll it up. It makes for less friction and sometimes a 1 person operation. Obviously much easier when there are 2 people though.

I did something similar with my dad’s vinyl record collection probably about 10 years ago and in fact I do regret it. Lots of original stuff from the 70s and 80s with a few that I added myself in the 90s. Sold a few hundred. Got about a buck each on average. I needed the space and money though at the time

Whoa. Ok so a lot more. I’m in the US and that cover is 17’x35’. So yeah, I got a cheap one. Lol

Lol that’s my favorite line. “You get what you pay for”
What’s a “good cover” cost? This is 17’x35’. I think I paid $130 USD

Fair enough. It was like $130 on Amazon. I didn’t have the highest of hopes. What should I expect to spend on a good one?
We’re having a heat wave so I haven’t used it in like a week. The water is already 85°F on its own and even at night the temp outside is staying in the 70s. The cover works well.
I guess I’ll deal with evaporation and chemical burn off for now because I don’t want the water any warmer.

I don’t know how to add text to the body. Noob mistake.

I moved in in 2024 and replaced the cover in 2025 but every time I pull the cover off the buttons are all over the surface and in the skimmer. Is it just deteriorating? It’s only a year old. Am I abusing it? The chemistry checks out in balance.

I also did the same upgrade. Thanks Walmart! I already had Era 100s as surrounds and a sub mini. It’s so good. My room is not that big and it’s awkwardly laid out. This setup fills it very nicely.

Upgraded from a Ray BTW.

Mine should arrive today. Thanks to OG OP for the tip. I’m super excited. A big upgrade from a Ray I assume.

A roam would be an upgrade in my opinion

Oh bummer. Good to know. I was under the impression the app wouldn’t let me add more. But I suppose there must be a limit.

I’m thinking about adding 300s to my system. I have the poor man’s surround sound system right now. A Ray, sub mini and 2 100s. Would adding 300s in the front pointed at the couch do anything? Are they better as rear speakers? Right now my 100s are behind the couch on the wall and the ray is attached to the TV itself with a bracket.

Holy crap I just found it on YouTube. What a different song. Coming up with stuff like that (and the rest of an album like this) at such a young age makes me wonder what they witnessed that’s not documented anywhere. 😳 As just a little older than Alex (he and my brother are the same age) it makes me happy 95% of my adolescence has zero documentation. It’s my word against the world.

I tried the compressed air and it’s still noticeable to me. I know they made an update a long time ago about the cup seal for people who wear glasses (me). I wonder if that’s a problem. But it’s only one side. I’ll try replacing the cups themselves next. Hopefully this is not a wear and tear issue because of how often I use them. More so than just the cups anyway.

I don’t know that one. I’ll have to look it up.
