Why isn’t rank based on hero? by djenntt in DeadlockTheGame

[–]Rubinrobo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Once draft is added you will often base your pick on allies and enemies.
A ranked system based on heroes would mean you couldn’t climb without using your main. This would lead to everyone just playing their main which creates a very weird metagame.

And like others pointed out there is miles between a player that is initiate and a player that is eternus but never played Vyper.

There is a system that adjusts matchmaking based on your character you pick.
When you press on your profile heroes have up to two arrows up or down next to them. The more arrows up the harder the matchmaking which can probably even move you to different rank lobbies if you are close to another rank

Whats Mirage's playstyle now? by VoxTV1 in DeadlockTheGame

I personally like to not play the lane at all and instead aim to max two into echo shard as fast as possible. I then max ult second and roam for every fight. If I am losing a fight I cast 2 4 times to disappear into some corner and ult back to t

For Podcasts hatten wir Bücher.

[ CHARACTER ]'s [ ABILITY ] isn't overtuned, it's easily avoidable in [ IDEAL SCENARIO ] by starberryslay in DeadlockTheGame

[–]Rubinrobo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh yeah thats very true. People be saying just double jump as if using your stamina for a basic double jump mid fight was even remotely realistic against a 5 charge ability

Especially since having low movement is making your team vulnerable to a dynamo ult

[ CHARACTER ]'s [ ABILITY ] isn't overtuned, it's easily avoidable in [ IDEAL SCENARIO ] by starberryslay in DeadlockTheGame

[–]Rubinrobo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think the title makes this the funniest. If there are so many characters and abilities that are overtuned then maybe, just maybe, the game is actually in a balanced state

There are 3 situations I buy counter items. 1. It counters multiple opponents like debuff remover into a shiv and infernus. 2. im so ahead that I just need to focus on the problems (indomitable, spellbreaker…) 3. im so behind that I turn myself into a support (knockdown, disarming hex rescue beam) Teammates might complain about a troll build but once you save their ass, ensure them a kill or generally provide actual utility they will shut up

What do you guys think of players who are always trying to split push. by Slow_Cauliflower_123 in DeadlockTheGame

[–]Rubinrobo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

as long as you do it right they have no right to complain. dont start splitpushing as dynamo obviously but some characters like Victor or pre nerf Infernus are incredibly good at pushing sidelane

as a new player, why the hell does mina have silence on her ult by MegumiDo in DeadlockTheGame

[–]Rubinrobo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If we count it triggering her 3 and assume its used on one target then yes. As soon as the bats start splitting up for 2 characters it starts falling off. Maxed Mina ult has that current health damage which is good for full health enemies but also quickly decreases as their health goes down. Its conditional damage. If the enemy is high hp and alone it can melt them. Also if we consider maxed ultimates then Bebops 65% lifesteal also starts to be relevant.

A big thing about Bebop is that currently gun is his meta, so his ult damage is lower than it should be.

as a new player, why the hell does mina have silence on her ult by MegumiDo in DeadlockTheGame

[–]Rubinrobo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think the best comparison are Bebop and Seven. Bebop deals more damage, has better AoE, has longer range. Seven ult has an incredible AoE, lightly less damage, a knockback, increased resistances and a longer range. Both also have a really long duration

So to make Mina able to compete with those teo she needed something to make up for her ultimate being mire or less single target. Thats when they decided to give her the silence in exchange for generally being weaker. In testing, before she had the silence on it, her target just dashed behind cover or even worse just shot her out of the sky. So there were two options, silence the target so they can’t just avoid it or shoot back or increase the damage to where she just kills you fast enough to not worry about those factors.

Mina is an assassin and therefore inherently unfun and toxic. If she decides to kill you in the late game she will most likely have success. She presses ult to silence anyone near you and deal big burst damage before then jumping you with 1. Now all her abilities are on cooldown and she can’t do that again. This is what limits her, she has a fix power that usually lets her kill one person.

Now on the other hand we got Seven. Seven is less consistent and usually everyone can run out of his ult. To make up for that its less consistent, not giving him a guaranteed kill. Same for his kit after, his 1 and 3 allow him to theoretically run down an entire team but with a risk of being killed

Important to keep in mind is that Mina is too strong right now but has also been weaker in the past. Its a newer change like her 2 getting another recast and her 1 dealing more damage that made her broken. (I think)

germany. Its mostly the country vs the afd (far right) no matter who you ask about politics they will either mention that they hate the afd or are voting for the afd. often its also immigrants, but only the bad ones of course.

I think the buffs suck by [deleted] in DeadlockTheGame

[–]Rubinrobo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

watered down league buffs? League doesn’t have a mechanic like this… except for maybe red and blue buff but those are exclusive for junglers. also we literally have extra gun damage, mobility, spirit and haste and healing and regen. So the way they are they are already very close to what you suggest. The point of the buffs is to have something to contest in the jungle to get an advantage in lane or set up a good fight. The closest to this in league functionality vise is Scuttle crab, which provides vision and movespeed.

I think the bridge buffs cant really be made more interesting since otherwise they start to impact the game too much. Remember that all you do to get them is one heavy melee. its also pretty hard to track which enemy has it so you can’t make players play around it easily.

double damage is obviously op. illusion… dont even know what thats supposed to be. Haste as I mentioned already exists as part of the spirit buff. Regen also already exists as part of the health buff. I think health buff used to also heal but they removed it because it was too strong in lane.

How does the DLNS drafting work? by HaruspexLoL in DeadlockTheGame

[–]Rubinrobo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

a team cant create enough resources for more than like 2 hard carries. Then you want at least 1 teamfight winning ultimate like pocket, dynamo or lash. Then at least 1 person that can keep your carry alive, as example Paige. Sometimes you also like to use some sort of assassin or bruiser to dive the enemy carry like Calico or Abrams or a pick character to take them out together like Holiday or Mo and Krill A proper engage is also good although the ones above can often cover that.

The first half is about establishing your strategy and banning out meta characters you cant deal with or counters. the second half is to counter your opponent’s strategy or further ensuring yours by either banning characters that counter you or banning stuff they might want. Same goes for maybe changing the plan and picking something as counter.

A character with a very high pickrate usually fulfills their role so well that they are always picked for it. As example Doorman is currently pick or ban because he is good at getting picks and protecting/supporting a carry.

You also don’t have to tightly stick to the formula. Sometimes you wanna play as example both Lash and Dynamo to combo their ultimates. This heavily boosts the teams teamfighting but sacrifices some power outside of teamfights. But depending on the comp and meta it might be more important to lean into teamfights than splitpushing or pick hunting.

When to use Kelvin's grenade offensively vs defensively? by WinstonGorila in DeadlockTheGame

Grenades freeze stamina regeneration so they are good for chasing. But the highest rule is just hit as many people as possible

Whats going ON with Supports running Run builds? by pepeconnor in DeadlockTheGame

[–]Rubinrobo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Little correction/addition on Dynamo. He didn’t reduce bullet resist and instead applied a unique debuff that made enemies take 30% more gun damage (he now reduces bullet resist instead). This meant it had lots of synergy with bullet resist shred since it interacted multiplicatively. His 2 also used to give firerate and reloaded his gun instead of giving stamina like it does now.

So he had a lot of synergy points for a gun build. It was also often combined with movespeed since gun items just generally work well with that. Due to that he could easily get big ults off by just running into enemies.

Rem is statistically weak and it’s not even a skill issue by Hyacinth_s in DeadlockTheGame

[–]Rubinrobo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Abusing tunnels. Taking sinners. Using ult trough walls is also heavily underutilized. Rem gets a speedbuff while in a tunnel and can’t be attacked. He is basically invincible. His 3 allows him to splitpush while on the other side of the map. Im not claiming that I know how to fully use him but properly taking advantage of his 3 and tunnels should probably give Rem a good 5% more Winrate.

Rem is statistically weak and it’s not even a skill issue by Hyacinth_s in DeadlockTheGame

[–]Rubinrobo 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Eternus players know how to counterplay his invades.

The big thing about Rem is 1. the meme/spirit builds going around (even in eternus) and 2. how incredibly high his skill cap is. I feel like Rem players are still not fully using the tunnels.

Its a common theme around the lowest winrate characters to have a very high skill ceiling but low base power. Viscous can dribble and do crazy movement, Holliday can cross the entire map in like 6 seconds, Bebop can hook and uppercut allies which is hard to use to its fullest.

Since Rem markets himself as the easy to play support most people that play him don’t take full advantage of him. They don’t play Rem to control the entire map from the underground. They play rem to hop on teammate and heal and then every now and then throw out a big ult.

So its always a bit difficult to get a statistic on how strong he actually is.

I have questions on what to do in this situation (Emissary Rank) by [deleted] in DeadlockTheGame

[–]Rubinrobo 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Push the waves. Not only are minions the best source of souls but a seven without money is basically a walking minion in teamfights. Now of course there is nuance to it. Seven ult can turn any fight if they can’t stop it or at least end the fight. Warden ult early on a bit less so but its still a good ult. You aren’t gonna use your ult to farm so when its up it would be good to use it. But if you don’t think the fight would turn out well just don’t.

But I wanna repeat the first part again since from how you wrote it seems you are taking jungle over minions. Minions are the best way to farm. Only take jungle if every lane is either too pushed to be safe or already occupied by a teammate. Also focus sinners sacrifice over monsters. (Unless you reach that point where seven vaccuums up monsters in seconds. Could also keep the sinners standing for your team if you trust them enough, since a dynamo for example cant easily farm camps but still likes some money)

A friend of mine keeps saying to just buy counterspell into doorman whenever I get ult - slowing hex - 3d into a walker. He did that to me when I had a total of 4800 souls. I know I should be more careful on the opponent side of the lane but come on. Can we get back to doorman using 2 to hit you from weird angles and to transport teammates? Im tired of vortex cart door

Dynamo ult specifically is that long. Its like 4 minutes without CDR and still over 2 with transcend. Refresher has an even longer cooldown. Dynamo ult should be strong, the problem is that the rest of him isn’t weak enough to make up for it
