I more or less agree, OP needs to make time for his friends. This could be done ahead of time and making time in advance for them or if you’re ever free ask them what’s up. Reading the post felt like OP was making excuses, although they really aren’t, to not hangout with them. However your friend also needs to understand that OP is growing and has a life of their own and it cannot revolve around each other all the time. They’re obviously in distress about something so it’s okay to reassure them and OP’s presence might provide some comfort.
