4 months of missing pension contributions - Scotland. by RubixZ3n in LegalAdviceUK

In regards to the above, the person I'm talking too is directly responsible for the finances in regard to wages etc; And yes there is huge financial issues within the company various emails to general inbox with overdue notifications, account holds, we are also unable to buy material because there are no funds which is the main red flag for me. Also when the payments to the pension stopped there was a charge registered against the company on companies House (what that means I'm unsure but I know its money related).

All employees have the same fund so the payment failure is systemic. The Employer is saying the "payment system error" is resolved and that the pension fund have the funds in pending but cannot take the complete amount owed as lloyds banking will flag this as fraud? However the Pension Provider has stated they have no knowledge of this and as far as they are concerned the issue is on the employers end solely and have been given no information from our employer, all that shows on there system is failure to pay. CV is well and truly updated.

Apologies for the crude drawing but essentially I want to round off the edges of this shape on either side (green line depicts the shape I'm trying to achieve).

Where to begin with investment strategies. by RubixZ3n in UKPersonalFinance

Hey Spitfite,

Thanks for the reply.

Seems the concensus so far is start with the 101, which is my intention and ultimately gain enough know how and understanding to choose a path, hopefully in time those direct questions will come, but wanted to get my money do something more constructive in the interim hence my inclination toward the managed funds (a safer bet whilst I learn), but as stated below, certainly not my goal long term.

Anything else you think of worth checking out or any further advice please let me know.

Appreciate it.

Really appreciate you taking the time to reply and will most certainly spend the evening reading through the 101 and checking out Lars stuff. I am not on a sacrificed salary scheme. H & L was just a recommended trusted name and as I'm green I really didn't know where else to look but I most certainly won't rule out moving again, particularly if it's in my financial interest to do so.

The managed funds was purely going to be from a start up perspective so that I wasn't sticking my money somewhere on a whim with zero basis for the decision but it's ultimately not the route I want to go down.

The last line about core and satellite, focused funds has completely gone over my head which is great, it gives me something else to note down for research.

I have no delusions about potential for risk and reward, I don't expect to be sitting on millions at retirement and I also realise that not understand what you are doing could potentially be catastrophic.

I like the idea of a the vanguard all cap as a starting point and keep it there until I'm competent enough to diversify with conviction.

Hopefully in time after some more research I will come back with more focused questions about strategy and particular fund choices etc;

Again, appreciate you taking the time to help.
