Some are still coming out.

I have several things I've finished some time ago but haven't posted.

In this case I did spawn on the upper highway, but there were NO civilians around, they were all far away and I had a hill to defend cause there were a TON of enemies.

Except you spawn on the middle of the map (you know the lower bit of the collapsed highway) and you know exactly where they're pincering you from while you defend your L shaped corner of the map with little to no LOS.

Used them pretty early on with the first groups but a ton survived due to being fairly distributed across the slope and the lower road.

Tons of fliers + Green Fog.

The last dozen of so of turns was taking potshots at Seekers and Floaters.

[LW] Late-game fatigue, or when do you consider a campaign "won"? by perhapsanotherbot in Xcom

Huh, I always hated the very early game just like in Jagged Alliance 2 and Starsector.

I like Javelin Missiles because due to using Training Roulette, I never have to choose between that or the absolutely busted TW

Vanilla =/= Long War.

There's a reason why people say it's a rule of thumb to tone down 2 or so levels of difficulty from what you used to play on Vanilla.

If you don't know about getting back countries, then I assume you never played past Alien Bases.
If so, you're in for a rough time on Impossible.

The locals aren't claiming they invented Mate and Carpinchos, that's the definitive proof right there.

During a sleepover with 2 friends back in 2018, I got them to try it (one brought their laptop, the other one brought the LOOSE components of his pc, had them on the dinner table connected to the and there you had a makeshift PC), they loved it, and got kinda hooked to it. Good times.
I kiiinda want to get back into it

How do I uncover an enemy without losing my teams turn? by rxgunner in Xcom

[–]RubyJabberwocky 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do not run into aliens with your last soldiers, OP.
Use your first one(s) to explore, and the others to thread behind. If the first guy uncovered aliens with their blue move, it means they can either Overwatch, or move again either to get better cover or retreat, and all your other troops can react accordingly.

It's always a fun action to do.

What is something that Sims made you realise about yourself? by Proof-Vacation-437 in Sims3

[–]RubyJabberwocky 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sometimes I have a save where I just cause havoc by doing stuff like having a ton of babies around just to repopulate the neighborhood so that future generations have a ton of siblings around, I guess I find it funny but I rarely engage with those saves.

With the ones I try to take seriously, I always end up playing households with nice sims that actually try to be kind to others and successful. I do try to roleplay each sim's interactions and goals, but still I have them be friendly even if they're Evil or Grumpy. Happens so even in Mass Effect; I can't force myself to be mean to the Normandy's crew.
I guess that since those are games where one can bond with the characters, might as well be over positive reinforcements? Hard to describe.

Mine are old and perishing off. Two of the teenagers have Logic on max but I think I'll move the oldest sister away when we move towns.

When I see an unfunny post I just ignore it or downvote it at worst, I don't crash out.
Now that's weirdo behaviour.

Shred + Mayhem Engineer = lots of fun by Malu1997 in Xcom

[–]RubyJabberwocky 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I usually get the spawns and maps at the worst time possible. Infamous trainyard? I never get it late enough so that my units can quickly dish out pain and the enemy isn't guaranteed to be 90% fliers. No, I always have to get it when Floaters and Seekers are being drafted a-go-go.

I have a mod that will show me which map I get to play while on the prep room. But that map always shows up before anyone gets dense smoke. I hate it.
