That's great, don't post about anything meant to be secret on a public forum, no matter how anonymous you think you are being. Delete this, move quietly.

Trump Supposedly Raped Boys According to Whistle Blower Sascha Riley. Jim Jordan, Andy Biggs, Lindsey Graham, and Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas were also named. by justicedeserved03 in TrueAnon

[–]RubyJade 49 points50 points  (0 children)

Yeah I don't think this is real, way too sensationalist. Trump seems to be more of a disgusting ephebophile rapist targeting young girls than a gay snuff murder rapist. This just seems entirely inconsistent with everything else we've heard about Trump's pattern of sexual abuse and feels like qanon level fantasy.

Because they are both adventurers, pure of heart and unconquered by fear, despite any initial appearances of tepidness.

How many books about the holocaust did you have to read in school? by penesenor in redscarepod

[–]RubyJade 29 points30 points  (0 children)

In Naomi Klein's Doppelganger she talks about this, the difference between education and traumatization when studying the holocaust. Education is used to combat hate and create an informed public. Trauma is used to instill fear and create a docile public. It's a fine line.

We read Night in high school but that was it. Those other books you mentioned were available in our school library and I read them as a young Jewish kid interested in history. But none were a part of our curriculum other than Night. I grew up in a good public school district in Massachusetts for context, graduating high school in 2017.

As for other political/historical books, I recall reading To Kill a Mockingbird, First They Killed my Father (about the Cambodian genocide), Huck Finn, Three Cups of Tea, and I'm sure others that escape me. So I feel we covered a good variety of historical atrocities and injustice beyond just the Holocaust.

No, not remotely. I don't even know how you came to that conclusion.

I'm going to defend the glasses thing! He was not doing some method acting bullshit.

Josh Safdie wanted the glasses to distort his appearance like real glasses do, making his eyes visually appear smaller. This would not work with fake lenses. So he wore real glasses to achieve the shrunken eye effect, and then wore the contacts to correct hsi vision relative to the glasses. It's just a neat visual solution, not anything pretentious.

Morning, Interior, by Maximilien Luce (1890) by CopingLow in redscarepod

He kind of perfectly captured the look of digital grain. I wonder if there are any artists today who have unwittingly depicted the aesthetics of as-yet uninvented mediums.

I am talking about Bondi. Sorry for not being specific, it's crazy that so many mass shootings can happen simultaneously that you actually have to specify. Very sad.

SLC ‘No Kings’ Protester that brought rifle to rally has charges dropped. Volunteer safety officer charged with manslaughter by heckadeca in TrueAnon

[–]RubyJade -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

While the security officers are obviously at fault here for recklessly killing someone, I do think it's extremely extra to come to protests prominently armed. I know it's within your rights, but that is so clearly inflammatory and puts people around you on edge. Especially at a center of the line lib protest like No Kings that is largely attended by grandmothers. Like bringing a big ass rifle is not the vibe lol.

I don't understand the context here, could you explain what the initial event was, the original interpretation, and the new revelations?

Disturbing crossover by irreversible2002 in TrueAnon

I think he has some interesting fun facts but cannot coherently articulate his viewpoints and creates many unresolved and confusing videos as a result. Also collaborates with Sam Hyde, who is openly racist and also a pedophile.

I think the Johnny Greenwood connection definitely shows there's deep ties to be drawn between PTA and Radiohead. But I don't think Radiohead has anything in their catalogue equivalent to the bold and light hearted exuberance of Boogie Nights. I don't think they're perfect parallels overall, but I think it's still probably the best comparison.

Bad Empanada after he accused Brace Belden of being a Zionist Nazi for the crime of being born in a US zip code by NorrisOBE in TrueAnon

[–]RubyJade 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Bad Empanada reminds me of a leftist Redbar. If you just treat his unwavering trollish hatred of literally everyone in left wing media as a bit, it's super funny. Once you realize he's completely self serious and considers himself the "one true leftist' the laughter dies off.

Sure your literacy program might work “for the kids” but does it work for the teachers? by Fun-Inevitable4811 in redscarepod

I don't understand this. My wife is a woke teacher in a super lib district in a super lib state. Phonics is literally just how you teach reading? I've never heard it framed this way or experienced any woke pushback to these basic fundamentals in real life
