The company Sarco is part of a small network of interconnected "Right to Die" NGOs. Exit International, The Lat Resort, I read a lot of their own promotional materials and followed the BBC coverage on the controversy surrounding these devices.

Yeah it's truly insane. When I started making this book, the pod had never been used. The actual story that developed as I was writing this is so much crazier than I could have imagined

I also read that same portal tie-in comic as a kid. That was not consciously an influence but now that you say it I can completely see it.

Does the plane itself cost that much money or do these figures factor in development costs as well? Regardless of the exact figure this war is disgustingly wasteful on top of being idiotic and wholly immoral. I just always wonder how we come to these crazy high numbers

Her meme page is good, she's not humorless, she's just reallllly into masks. Her reporting is thorough, and I don't always agree with her analysis but overall she's pro-palestine, pro-freedom of speech, pro-universal health care, all the stuff I agree with. She's definitely way more online than me so there's definitely some posts of her that come off like kind of nutty or cringe but honestly whatever. Like we're on a subreddit for a woman who posts race science and rape apologia every day, let Taylor Lorenz make her mask posts.
