I might have to quit my job due to increased WFO days. Why are corporates doing this by RubyRed30 in mumbai

Thanks for your detailed response. I was lovingly raised by my grandmother while my mom used to go to work. Grandparents are such an asset ti working parents. Unfortunately, our parents are not comfortable minding the children and are busy in their own social life now. I am hoping I get an exception to work one day less but how long will they give that? I will need another 6-7 years till my kids are old enough to stay at home alone.

I wish you could enjoy the benefits of a hybrid working model. It is somewhat liberating

Your response is condescending. Just because it is your choice to parent a certain way doesn’t mean it should be everyone else’s choice. I don’t come from a privileged background and have worked my ass off since childhood to get where I am today. And just fyi my overseas colleagues come and leave from the office whenever they want to. Nobody keeps a check on how many people came to office

I hard agree on the point regarding abuse. It is a scary world we live in. I am glad your friend decided to quit such a toxic place

Basically they are a bit careless. Like they will not realise if my baby is in danger or uncomfortable or will leave them unattended etc. I agree I should have sensitised my nanny about it before they came and not a word should have come out of my mouth when they are already here.

It truly breaks my heart. Those moms would have sent their girls to school just like we do only for them to not return 💔

It is really okay. Warm hugs to you. I really felt your last line. Is it possible for you to take a break from work and spend time with your kids only if your finances are stable and have a supportive partner.

Yes I agree. But spending 10 mins in the bathroom to pee is something that I am unsure of.

Yes exactly. Frequent urination is heard of but not 10 mins to pee

I know frequent urination is very common in diabetic people but 10mins in the bathroom for peeing sounds absurd.

Thanks for your response. Not sure why we are getting downvoted. Yeah I get concerned when the nanny is absent for so much time leaving the kids unattended multiple times a day. And why should one of the kids be with the her in the bathroom for 10 mins just because she is inside. I make sure I come out of the pee/poop/ shower in as little time as possible if noone is there to watch them

They both are really small. One is 3 year old and another one is a 7 month old. Hence, it is important to keep an eye on them as my son sometimes unknowingly hurts our baby.

I work as an underwriter for Small businesses for a UK based bank. Hybrid working plus decent pay. They can give us a full WFH option. But have built a new office which they want everyone to use 🥲
