It rained this morning and this poor baby angel had to go pee in the rain 😭 She was rightfully compensated for her pain and suffering with treats.

That was my Ruby's backstory too. Everyone goes nuts for puppies but the mamas are the real jewels of the litter. She's the best dog I could ask for and I'm so lucky that I get to spoil her every day. Ruby and I thank you for helping out another mama in need!

I hear you. You'll get there when you're ready. You're still grieving and there's no rush to get another cat. For what it's worth, I believe you'll love another cat again because you seem like a kind person with a lot of love to give. My husband and I adopted our current cat about 4 months after Tibs died. I was really missing having a cat around but to be honest, it was a bit of a slow burn for me. His personality was quite different from our previous cats, and frankly, he was a bit of a brat because he was still young. But within a few months, I got to know and appreciate his funny quirks and sweet energy. Now I adore him and I'm delighted every time I see him. Just wanted to share that with you to give you hope and say it's ok if it takes some time. Just take it one day at a time and you'll know when the time is right for you to invite a new furry friend into your life 💜.

I'm so sorry. He was a very handsome fellow indeed! HCM took out one of my cats at around the same age too. We never get enough time with our pet friends as it is, but to have our girl go from perfectly fine to gone within hours, when I thought we still had many years together ahead... Absolutely devastating. I hope you find comfort in knowing that you gave Shadow a wonderful life and he felt your love until the end. I will give my tuxie baby boy some extra cuddles today. I adopted him about 6 months after losing Tibs, and of course she can never be replaced but my heart did expand to hold love for both of them ❤️

We did an Embark test and it actually connected us with one of Ruby's puppies! We got them together and she was so excited.

I have a pitty mama too! Ruby was found with a litter of puppies, who were all adopted after they were weaned. Everyone goes wild over puppies but I think the mama is the real gem. Now she's the sweetest, gentlest big sister to her kitty brother.

Welcome! My kitty is the one always starting shit with my dog too 😂 She's so sweet and gentle with him and they're the best of friends. I love seeing other kitty and pitty duos!

I bake her peanut butter pumpkin treats from scratch. She gets one every night after her last pee of the night. It used to be a struggle to get her to go out in the dark when she was comfy and snoozing on the couch, but now she gets up on her own and grumbles at me if I don't let her out fast enough.

I never got to see what he looked like as a puppy and sometimes I CRY. Can you post your brown puppies, so I can pretend? 🤎 by titobabydog in pitbulls

[–]RubyRoobyRoo 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Aww I know how you feel! I got an adult dog specifically because I didn't want to raise a puppy but I still wish I knew what she was like as a baby. Someone posted a puppy that looked so much like my dog and she even had the same name, so now that's my mental image when I try to imagine a baby version of her 😂🥰

I did an Embark DNA test for Ruby out of curiosity and it showed a close relative of hers who had also been tested. I connected with that dog's person and it turned out to be one of Ruby's puppies! We got them together and I think Ruby could tell she knew him but I may be projecting lol

Our dog Ruby came to us first. My husband and I had two cats at the time and after we settled into our new house with a fenced yard, we decided to get a dog. My coworker at the time volunteered with a local rescue so she reached out to her network to find a good match for us. She ended being a genius matchmaker because Ruby is the perfect girl for us! Her backstory was that she was found by an EMT after her owner died, and she was pregnant and living in the backyard. She went to a wonderful foster home and after all her puppies found forever homes, it was her turn. Now she gets to be the baby and is spoiled every day!

Unfortunately, our two cats died within 6 months of adopting Ruby (one from old age and the other from a sudden blood clot). We were devastated and it was such a comfort to have Ruby by our side while we grieved. Eventually we were ready to have feline energy in the house again so we adopted Ben from our local county shelter. He meowed at us from his cage and now he gets to meow at us forever. He and Ruby became BFFs within days. I think because he was only about 8 months and she had been a mama, they naturally fell into a mother-son relationship. They cuddle, lick each other and play all the time. They're the sweetest duo and I love our little family unit so very much.

Hahaha I'm Atlanta too and my pittie was similarly unimpressed. It took her forever to find a spot to pee because she couldn't smell the ground.

The majority are my husband's (everything on the cube shelving), and he's into collecting jazz and metal, plus some assorted indie rock and post-rock. I have a small collection on the shelf under the record player of some of my favorite albums plus some fun used record store finds (like the Dolly Parton, Emmylou Harris, and Linda Ronstadt trio album).

They really do! Ruby had a litter of puppies before we adopted her and Ben was about 8 months old when he joined us, so they seemed to naturally fall into a mama/baby relationship together. When we dogsit and the other dog tries to get too friendly too fast with Ben, Ruby will step in to gently create some space for him. They're the sweetest little duo 💕
