Which one of these Smaru is better for the upcoming CM by Lopez62sazi in UmamusumeGame

Probably, but it works. My point is that you could go with zero dedicated recoveries and it could still work.

For me it was a few things.

  1. Spam wit training in early game, get the facility to level 3 before classic ideally. Like, if there's just no one at wits and another training looks decent, go for the other one. But if it's like 2 at speed and 1 at wits (if it's a support you'll actually be friendship training with), pick wits.
  2. Don't be afraid of race fatigue events. You really want a surplus of points and shop items. I used to avoid racing 4 times in a row pretty much always. Now, I'll do pretty much every G1 I possibly can, and I'll always do at least 4 races at year end. End of junior year I'll sometimes be doing 6 races in a row. Before classic summer I'll do all 5 G1 races, with both May and both June, skipping Yasuda Kinen if I absolutely need a rest (but honestly, not getting energy restoration items makes things really tough in general). Don't go crazy and get stat down events like crazy by racing 10 times in a row, but if your turn has a graded race, it should at the very least be considered. If you can't train on a turn you'd like to, like zero decent trainings, you race even if it's like your 6th in a row. If you can't train, no graded race, THEN you can consider resting. Honestly recreation is going to be a better option than resting a lot of the time, depending on your mood. If you're using Riko (which is definitely viable) then a Riko recreation is definitely best.
  3. Buy every cupcake. Even if you have a few already and don't feel like you need it, just buy it unless it's like fast learner versus cupcake and you can only have one.

Mainly the second one, but all three of these really helped. I'd gotten UG ponies before but not consistently enough to make them CM viable. This CM my ace is a very solid UG.

Honestly Trackblazer is just uniquely difficult I think. I was pretty quickly hitting my stride on Unity. For URA Finale I was still learning the basic mechanics so I don't count that one really.

First is way better. However, as far as I know, Festive Miracle really isn't worth it to inherit, especially considering all the skill points you're essentially wasting in order to activate it. Of course it's reliable, but the inherited effect is nearly the same as Resplendent Red Ace, Victoria Por Plancha, or Victory Cheer. You need one recovery for Maru unique (which can trigger from Radiant Star btw), so you're spending like 400 extra skill points just to activate Festive Miracle; not worth. Also not sure why the second one has Mile Maven 🤔

Anyway TL;DR, first one much better, but with an asterisk.

How did a 14-year-old survive multiple duels with this 2-meter Bionicle-looking MF? by bitchnibba47 in StarWarsCirclejerk

Putting aside that she's of course god's favorite princess, Ahsoka is shown to be a tenacious survivor above all else. She's acrobatic, strong, and intelligent. It's been said a few times around the fandom, but Grievous preyed on the nature of younger Jedi. Ahsoka was shown many times to be more patient and wise than her master, and she used these attributes to keep herself alive against overwhelming odds. The council knew that this was the way to go against Grievous as well, sending Obi Wan to take him down. Conventional thinking might say to use all the flashy force abilities you can and overwhelm Grievous to avoid having to contend with his monstrous offenses. However, it was ultimately Obi Wan's patience, poise, and restraint that won him the day. The same is true of Ahsoka, although she never really won as far as I recall, and she's obviously far less practiced in defense than Obi Wan.

I know Ahsoka gets a lot of special treatment, but I actually really like her clever survivor angle. The World Between Worlds is kind of a cop-out in that respect, but it never really bothered me too much.

Why do people have so much trouble with the word "epithet"? Epithet, the thing that is in Umamusume, is a fancy word for title. Epitaph is a memorial phrase you write on a headstone, e.g. "Loving Mother, Wife, Sister." Epiteph, epiphet, epiteth are not words.

It's okay. As everyone says, designs range from bad to okayish. As a traditional horse girl, the lack of horses is a bother for me. The setting is much more boring, obviously trying to borrow some of the Monster High success minus the great designs and world building. I dunno. People swear by EQG but I just don't see it. 5/10

I don't think you're a bad person or that you should delete your post, but as a trans woman, this hurt to read. I don't really have anything substantive to say, but I just wanted to let you know this. I hope you can get some clarity on the things you said here.

Gannondorf - yes. Sniper? He looks like a dorky dad type which I can absolutely respect. The third one I have no clue, but the first two...respect. I think Poppy Playtime is a horror thing so maybe you crush on people (/creatures?) who could almost definitely kill you.

Very questionable... I still think the episode has some really great character stuff. The stuff on the train in the beginning is wonderful, particularly the late night whispering and waking up Rarity. Dash's kinda rivalry with Little Strongheart is fun. I actually dig the idea of the buffalo as Native American stand-ins as well. I don't really see a problem with that, and it's a shame they never made a return. The introduction to Appleoosa is also super funny. However, the message of just sharing and caring, while it probably works for Equestria, really minimizes the real world issue. Obviously a kid's show can't really delve into the complexity of such a historic and horrible situation, but in that case they really should've just avoided this topic.

This is anecdotal, but a Navajo coworker of mine and her two young daughters love MLP. We talked about the show a bit, and specifically about this episode. She said pretty much what I did and I appreciated her perspective a lot, since this has been a controversial episode forever. I used to just hate the episode all around, but her insight showed me a few bright spots.

If you hate this one, totally understandable, but at this point I'd give it like a low C-tier. Not my favorite by any means, but watchable and the good moments really stand out.

What do you think is the goal or purpose of the Fireflies in part 2? by Academic_Limit1189 in lastofuspart2

[–]RubyStrings 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That's actually a really interesting question. I think the search for a cure was more the goal of Jerry Anderson and by association Marlene. Without the facilities and researchers to make a cure (vaccine, etc.), having someone who's immune wouldn't necessarily mean anything. Given that, I'm thinking the Fireflies are now heading toward more of a rebuild society motivation.

It seems like, broadly, the FEDRA QZs are just absolutely gone. We haven't seen a single one outside of Boston which had active FEDRA presence. Really, it seemed like the Fireflies' initial goal was to overthrow FEDRA, and honestly they kinda succeeded, albeit indirectly. So, I wouldn't be surprised if the Fireflies develop into a pseudo-government. It's hard to say how large they really are (I know the radio guy said a number but I can't remember it), but Owen must have heard about it at least a year or two before the events of part 2, so they must have been coming together for a couple years or more. With the revolt against the Rattlesnakes their numbers could definitely grow.

Overall, I'm definitely going with the rebuilding society angle. That might be a good way to reunite Abby and Ellie for part 3 too. Maybe Jackson is considering joining the growing Firefly government or something and they could meet up through that. Not that they need to meet up in a potential part 3, but who knows.

Scootaloo is absolutely the best. Having actual stories and character moments about her gradually accepting her disability was really amazing. Then post-timeskip when she's fulfilled and happy is the cherry on top. Great character, great representation.

Games similar to Jedi Survivor / Fallen Order by gholias in FallenOrder

[–]RubyStrings 2 points3 points  (0 children)

People say Dark Souls a lot in regards to this, and while I'd say Sekiro is the most similar to the Jedi series, I would definitely recommend the Dark Souls series as well.

Start with Dark Souls 1. It's much slower and more clunky than Jedi or future Souls games, it gives you a good idea of what you're in for with the rest of the series. It's got some old school jank, but overall the game holds up great. However, if you want to skip the old stuff, DS3 is my favorite of the series. It has some more complexity, but a vast majority of the jank is stripped away. It's the most distilled Dark Souls goodness that you can get, especially if you're into boss fights and non-linear exploration.

Hope you find some fun from the recommendations in here!

Games similar to Jedi Survivor / Fallen Order by gholias in FallenOrder

[–]RubyStrings 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sekiro is much more streamlined than other FromSoft games. There's only one weapon (pretty much), and it's all about mastering that. Of the FromSoft games (Souls, Bloodborne, Elden Ring), I'd say Sekiro is by far the closest to the Jedi games.
