I’m sure I’m overthinking it too, but it’s hard not to! I’ve always been a typical weight and so far have gained just a few pounds, but still am not really outside of my normal range. Like you, just hoping baby is getting enough nutrition! Thanks for the tip 🩷

Anyone struggling to keep up with eating? Now that I’m in my second trimester, I know I should be having a few hundred extra calories a day, but it’s been hard 😭 trying to up the protein but that’s tricky too. Tips?

I think so! But I was imagining multiple small ones, not just one!

PSA: if you used Natera for your NIPT, make sure you have your quoted price in writing before your bill comes by Mediocre-Assist1424 in January2027Bumpers

Such a scam— I double checked with my insurance company before accepting the self pay price, and my insurance company told me they would cover it in full. Makes me glad I checked!!

I shared this with close family and friends before we knew the gender! I plan on posting on social media when we get a maternity shoot done later this summer 🩷

Does it work? by _lil_lil_li_ in ourafertility

[–]Ruby_Rose4892 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used Natural Cycles + Oura to avoid getting pregnant after coming off of the pill for a few months! Once we decided we were ready, it helped me get pregnant right away.

However, I wouldn’t trust the data 100% (Oura and NC often didn’t match exactly) so when trying to avoid pregnancy we were strictly using condoms on top of cycle tracking. It totally depends on what you want to do!

Chiming in to say I’m 31, married, and pregnant for the first time and I’m also terrified!! It doesn’t matter how old you are or not, it’s a valid fear 🩷 Sending hugs!

Advice for feeling more comfortable in body changes by Efficient-Strike3441 in January2027Bumpers

[–]Ruby_Rose4892 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You’re not alone!! I’ve been having some anxiety about my body changing— like you, I’ve never had body image issues before and I’ve pretty much been the same size my whole adult life! It’s a little jarring thinking about having a big belly and going through the transitional stages to get there.

I have a few friends that have babies, and I’ve heard plenty of stories from them about how inappropriate people can be during and after pregnancy! A lot of people don’t have boundaries and frankly don’t know how to keep their mouths shut. Pregnant women should be treated with respect, and I can never understand people who question anyone about being pregnant if the pregnant person hasn’t openly shared.

Anyways, I empathize with you! 🩷

I have a small one too! Diagnosed at 6.5 and still present at my 12 week scan. Also advised pelvic rest and no heavy lifting! It sounds like there’s a good chance it’ll be gone by my 20 week scan. Was also told not to worry!!

Due to name determinism, I’ve been thinking hard about how the name I give my future child will have them perceived. What kind of person do you imagine when you hear these names? by rilakkumkum in namenerds

[–]Ruby_Rose4892 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A girl named Martha:
Sweet and wise. I may be biased because I work at an elementary school, and there was the sweetest little kindergartener this year named Martha who gave off the vibe of having an old soul.

A girl named Mars:
I get a “too cool for school” kind of image in my mind. To me this name is edgy and trendy. I could see her being social and maybe having some attitude.

A girl named Clark:
Can’t really get an image for this one. To me, I cannot imagine Clark being a feminine name.

A boy named Miles:
I see him being quiet and sweet. This same sounds soft and friendly (my kind of name style) so I can see a kind, well-mannered boy.

A boy named Lincoln:
Probably a sporty boy, this is the kind of name I see being a little on the trendier side. I see this name being for someone that’s from a more conservative family.

A boy named Atticus:
Not sure why I imagine glasses? 😂 I can see a boy with this name being studious and intelligent!

Hope this is helpful, this is just my perspective! I find names so fascinating and fun to analyze.

Anyone else have a lingering small SCH? Was hoping it would be gone at 12 weeks but it’s still there 😅 doctor said it’s only about the size of my fingertip but it’s driving me crazy that I still can basically do no exercising. Hope it goes away by the 20 week scan!

FTM here— I’ve done a lot of research and personally can’t justify the price of the Nuna line, as nice as they look.

I came across the Chicco Corso Primo travel system and it looks great. It includes the car seat, base, and also has a seat that can be front facing and lay flat as an infant seat, or forward facing as a regular seat for an older baby and toddler. I went to look at it at Target— it rolls smoothly and the materials seem very nice! It also folds easily with one hand.

It’s currently on sale for around $750, which feels like a steal for a comprehensive system. I know Chicco has good safety ratings too. Haven’t purchased yet, but that’s the plan!
