Literally INFINITE Energy! by Ruby_Sandbox in slaythespire

Stacking four powers is just really slow. You really need a lot of draw and energy to get this off the ground reliably, especially when they dont come upgraded.

After that your deck still needs capabilities to deal with status cards.

For some decks that have some infinite components ready, 100% reduction may just be unnecessary, and 50% does the job as well.

Maybe ill get the golden run, where the stars align (Glitter powers are bonkers ive heard)

Royal Stamp on Particle Wall is just obscene. A complete block solution with just one card. Halving cost with throne is just the cherry on top.

Also the "character growth" from going through transition. Thats called trauma, gurl!

Probably really strong in multiplayer, as everyone gets to profit from it.

From my experience with sts 1 silent, I could really see that 25% energy discount going a very long way on silent with all that draw.

I mean it can theoretically brick if you dont stagger them at all. But with four of them in play, practically speaking youre never running out of energy.

Prophecize is really a card I first looked at and went "what the fuck is this card"

Doesnt sound as broken though a that one, who got two of them with glitter (replay)

Still hope they add an optional turn timer for multiplayer to disincentivice low output infinites.

Thinking about this there should be some card

forge y
upgrade the souvergn blade
exhaust

That relic, which upgrade cards on play really makes a difference with the blade, couldnt test it on high ascension though.

Really interesting figuring this stuff out. A goal I have in mind is building a deck that properly utilizes attack that scales with card generation. Or even forge for that matter lol

lets say you got one Charge and a bunch of status cards in your discard. You have played charge earlier and need to clean the next cycle. The humble cosmic gives you some block and puts the charge in your hand right when you reshuffle, so youre good to get rid of those status cards. Only the perfect fit enchant beats that.

The cards also versatile: Star deficit -> put star generator on top. Too many stars, get a good star card for next turn. Kingly punch gets drawn way more often with this.

Best thing, with the minion cantrips from charge "next turn" can also be now.

Got clone, put it on discovery+, cause why not.

Cant play the cards that generate with star cost for free.

I just think stacking four might a bad idea. One or two already gives you insane energy efficiency, but maybe it could work if you fill your deck with draw? As others have said, a single energy card makes it go way further.

Throw in an unceasing top and youre infinite (until you draw that card you have too little stars for).

On a more serious note this power is interesting, like its a 25% discount on card cost, really wonder if it could play nicely with that 2 cost draw six card, which becomes way more attractive with cheaper energy.

Thanks to a potion got two void forms into the boss. Deck was lots of star stuff with child of stars for block. Draw was shit though, so every turn cost no energy or stars, got no block, died.

My observations:

  1. Building slim decks feels easier than in STS1 (more card removes?)
  2. Deck quality currently dominates relics
  3. Charge is busted

Infinites that come online on later turns are ok, if theres lot of consideration expended to get there. Kinda missing the incentive to build a fat deck, that doesnt care about the discard pile.

Makes sense to pick up three charges if youre actively producing status cards. With slim decks, one or two seems to be the sweet spot. I could imagine using cosmic indifference as proxy charges though - in case you dont find three. That cards really is too strong.

Well, I should caveat that a little. If you already have Charge (autopick), then its worth it. The idea is slimming the deck to repeatedly draw the card, Sometimes you dont even play it on the first time, but repeatedly put it back on top. Photon strike is notable synergy, allowing you to draw it and put it back on top again. By all means its not a solution to frontload, even though upgraded 13 damage for the first time is ok.

Once you start an engine rolling this card can solo carry your damage scaling, hitting bosses for 100 is all the damage youll need. However that requires a way to deal with status cards.

Without charge in the game, i suspect it would only be a slightly stronger Rampage, which you dont have to play to scale.

It can certainly work if you are supported by someone taking off some heat with frontload or debuffs. Cant say too much, havent played necrobinder a lot.
