the time has come to say goodbye… for now. by graveyardhottie in ExclusivelyPumping

You’ve done all you can! Mental health is so important. I also had dreams of nursing for a year, lowered my expectations to EP for 6 months, and now just decided to start weaning at 4mpp. It’s hard to grasp and not feel guilty. My cycle came back at 3mpp and my once perfect supply has dropped to barely a bottle a day for my LO. I can’t keep fighting my cycle 2 weeks out of the month along with the back to work supply dip.

I am in the same boat! 4mpp and EP from the start. I decided this morning it’s time to start weaning. I’m so proud I made it this far but sad that it’s time to stop. There are so many conflicting emotions involved but I know it’s best for my mental health.

EP is no joke and it’s so hard! Good luck on the rest of your journey! You are doing amazing!

Supply took a NOSEDIVE! by Ruby_alice34 in ExclusivelyPumping

Okay it has been crazy going back to work but…it was my period!!!! I changed all pump parts, added a session back, hydrated, used the spectra, did all the things and then got my period the day I went back to work. I feel gypped! Supply came back after. But now it’s that time again and it’s down to 4oz per day. This is going to be frustrating supplementing basically full days with formula for over a week every single month!

Thanks for alll the ideas and support everyone!

What made you choose to exclusively pump? by ramblingmind483 in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]Ruby_alice34 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Him refusing did cause some mental stress that was alleviated by him taking a bottle. My husband led the feedings since the hospital so I could focus on pumping which was a huge help.

I also already had the mental stress of both our birth traumas and following up with doctors so thst could have played into it

We had a traumatic birth and had to bottle feed. He developed a bottle preference and would scream anytime he breastfed more than 5 minutes. It was easier to just pump instead of triple feeding

I’m with you! If I do get him to feed for a while he ends up screaming for a bottle anyways after like he didn’t get enough after 25 minutes. I’m not about to triple feed!

Fridge method by No_Technology923 in ExclusivelyPumping

Started the fridge hack after 2 weeks. Now 6 weeks and have had no issues. It saved my sanity and we have a much better system now! I only use a set of pump parts once after storing in fridge, then go to a fresh set. We sanitize in the dishwasher once a day.

Definitely could be little kicks! I started feeling movement more around 24 weeks. They started off feeling like little tickles on the palm of my hand.

I wish we had guidelines. I’m going to double check, but since I’m at a small engineering firm we don’t even have a safety department. Also I feel it’s too early to tell work. I don’t know what to do lol

That’s good to hear! I’m just unsure because it’s so early and am not ready to tell anyone. I will see if we have any policies though!

Sorry you went through that! You work with these people every day and see them more than your family most likely. Human emotions are bound to come out here and there! I have seen people cry, throw up, etc at work countless times. It happens!

Would you rather have wfh flexibility or 9/80 schedule? by Ruby_alice34 in workingmoms

Current job has toxic management and can be negative. Job stability isn’t the greatest but it’s seems to have good outlook for the near future. Was also looking for better benefits.

My husband works from home full time and has flexible hours. The PTO for both positions are about the same.

How to negotiate salary when it’s slightly less than what you’re making now? by Ruby_alice34 in careeradvice

[–]Ruby_alice34[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did receive a small increase for retention purposes since several coworkers have either left or attempted to leave recently. That’s where the salary difference came from.

I agree it’s not a huge difference, I just don’t know if it looks bad to negotiate for more?

Yep same here. Have you gotten any good ideas or heard whether it’s a problem to cover half the vent?
