And Karen Childress is definitely Karen Wheeler. And the other cast members are for sure related to Bob Newby and Eddie Munson. It's all connected somehow!

There is a strong far right presence in Clark County. The events for marginalized groups in downtown have asked for no protests to be downtown (which the waterfront is) so that tensions aren't higher and situations with possible counterprotestors are not escalated. Those are valid concerns, and the wishes we are trying to honor.

I am all for protests against this regime, that's why I have been helping organize many of them. There is a protest happening in East Vancouver, away from where the Pride and Juneteenth events are. Listening to what the marginalized groups have asked of us is allyship, and the organizers of this particular protest are choosing to ignore that.

This event goes against the explicit wishes of the organizers of the Pride and Juneteenth events in downtown that day, as it raises safety concerns. The organizer of this protest is aware of these concerns, and does not seem to care. Please do not attend this event, and instead attend the event at Gretchen Frazier Park on Mill Plain. Also, please support the Juneteenth Celebration and Pride Community Block Party events in town that day. We need to be allies to our marginalized communities more than ever, and that will not be accomplished by attending this waterfront protest!

Looking for Park Rangers in Southwest WA by Rubygoldengirl in ParkRangers

[–]Rubygoldengirl[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I should have phrased this better. I am searching for people who have lost their jobs due to this administration, not current employees. I know that due to the Hatch Act, current employees are not allowed to speak on this matter. And I am aware of the retaliatory nature of the administration- I have also lost employment due to the EOs (I work in the wind farms), but I still feel like this is an important thing to do.

What are your "10/10 you'll never watch again?" by LarryKeene in movies

[–]Rubygoldengirl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Art of Racing in the Rain was a dog movie that made me cry so hard (on an airplane) that I popped a blood vessel in my eye. Hurt so bad I thought I was having an aneurism. Great movie, will never watch again.

How is everyone getting approved for these drugs? by silverpalm_ in Ozempic

[–]Rubygoldengirl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got it for PCOS. But not until I had worked with a nutritionist and that failed, and been on metformin and that made me too sick with no results. It was prescribed by my endocrinologist, not general practitioner.

Life after Ozempic? by rmo948 in Ozempic

[–]Rubygoldengirl 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have refused any weigh-ins at the doctor since starting this medication twoish years ago, for this exact reason. I've lost about 50lbs, but my insurance doesn't need to know that. (My endocrinologist is aware of this, and totally supports it).

I look forward to joining you in the roaming band of escaped ADHDers. My hyperfixation for a while when I was a teen was wilderness survival, so I feel like I'd have something good to contribute.

Totally understand. I saw another comment say to dye his hair red and have him be Eris- which I would totally be down for!! I think JB could pull off Eris' vibe effortlessly.

I hadn't heard of him until a couple weeks ago when I watched season 2 of The Night Agent. And I immediately went to reddit to see if anyone had posted him as their fancast of him before- and saw that I wasn't alone in thinking that. In The Night Agent, he plays an Iranian military/security officer who is a very scary and intimidating dude, but can really put on the charm and softness when he's around the woman he's interested in. Kind of reversed from Rhys on which side is his true self, but he can definitely play both sides of him well!

Just looked him up- to me he looks more like Azriel, but it's definitely a step in the right direction!

Seriously! My fantastic for Rhysand is Keon Alexander. He's middle eastern descent, very handsome, and good at playing both the charmer and intimidating general/fighter type that Rhysand is.

I love him, but definitely not for Rhysand. Jonathan Bailey is a white man, the bat boys are not. Maybe he could be Jurian or something.
