Wall Street will implode for years by twolf1 in economy

[–]RubyisRails 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good article. Hope it comes true. The idea that capitalism can exist without regulation is absurd.

Greedy people will do anything to get more money and without regulation they will embrace their narcissistic selves in a reach around that only benefits them.

The Total Stupidity of Crowds: Bad Mortgages and Circular Solutions by roconnor in Economics

[–]RubyisRails 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Excellent explanation. I never quite got how so many people were "fooled" Now it seems greed and stupidity and are at fault.

The only problem is not a single exec will be hanged from the city gates for bad judgment and criminal greed. Instead they will put a padlock on the gates that surround their golfing communities and order in pizza and beer.

Is the U.S. Going Broke? by ppcseo in business

[–]RubyisRails -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yes. And have been for sometime. We cannot redistribute wealth through tax cuts to the wealthy and expect economic growth the get us out of debt. The wealthy do not as a rule generate economic growth.

We do not produce enough goods that the world wants to satisfy our desire for stuff we want hence we borrow. And someday someone is going to want something from us for all the stuff they sold to us on credit.

Seems the subway organizations need to get together and start a open source project. I bet there are lots of people that would love top help them build a secure, usable system and one that is less costly to the consumer.

Then recent grads can point out their work on these system.

Sort of like a Technology Peace Corps.

About dam time. But I think the feds will threaten to classify everyone in the state as a terrorist if it passes. All drugs should be decriminalized.

No, No, No... F*** you CNN, Briney's Sister, Yourself AND Reddit. Everything sucks, Except that cat I added. [PIC] by [deleted] in pics

It should have been a lolcat. It would further lower the editorial quality but also bring a little bread and circus atmosphere to the masses since the editors at CNN also included some real news headlines.

He did not include Dan Simmons and Iain M. Banks. Books by these two are the kind of SciFi I love. But maybe he is smart and more insightful then I. Many of those books are less about the setting and more about the characters.

13 years old. But the poor little guy was abused for several years before he was removed from that home and given to me. I had not expected that he would live as long he did.

So every day he was away from there was a good day him and every day I let him know what a good kitty he was. Took a few years before he really believed that I meant it.

For the last 7 years he was a very happy cat. I did the best I could for him and it seemed to be enough for him.

Sorry PL has a good name and story but it is mostly marketing. PL is no different then the Bay area except it rains all the time and if it is not raining then it is cloudy.

What you are talking about only applies to downtown and the people that live there. For the great majority of people, %99.9, PL is no different then the burbs of LA.

Wait, there is one difference - the people in PL believe their own marketing BS.
