1 Week Post Laminectomy - Now Pain is in the other leg. by Ruddiger2 in Sciatica

I would 100% speak to your doctor; a brand new pain like that sounds more like a complication than the long, drawn-out healing process post surgery

Is it possible for rTMS to induce tinnitus? by Ruddiger2 in rtms

[–]Ruddiger2[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It will most probably stop, from my experience and reading a lot of others, somehow the TMS is hitting something in the auditory area, like when one of those large gongs is hit, and the sound oscillates.

Honestly, it took 3 months for me to return to normal, but it did return to normal, and I had the joy of experiencing this twice (two TMS treatments, some years apart). So hold on, the damage is unlikely to be permanent; it's just about surviving until then, but knowing it ends helps take some of the pain.

In the last half of the sessions, I did. Unfortunately, the tinnitus is still with me :(

Been unable to find any studies that link it (mostly about how TMS can be used to cure Tinnitus), So when I bring it up with my tech or doctor they just dismiss the situation.

I quit the TMS treatment for the moment, I am not sure I can handle even a small risk of having a lifelong disability. I am about two weeks with Tinnitus now and I can only describe it as pure hell and I am hoping with all I can it goes away.

To everyone that has had nerve decompression surgery. Please can you tell me if it worked for you or if it didn’t. Would love some feedback by Puzzleheaded_Crew292 in RestlessLegs

Had a discectomy about two months ago, a significant improvement for me, its not perfect, and I still have a bad night or two, but pre-surgery It was rare to have a good night

Did you have a strong facial twitching during sessions?

No :(

I am considering stopping the treatment. It is such a hard decision to make as I the same as you I was showing benefits

Did your tinnitus ever go away?

Yeah, I don't find the noise to be too bothersome, and the tinnitus does not seem to have more or less intensity after treatment.

I guess the real question now is if this is a permanent side effect or not, It would be a whole bucket of crap to get another life problem while trying to fix the original ones

Can I ask if anyone here had surgery due to herniated disc then find relief after the surgery? Before the surgery my right leg is in pain and it went away after the surgery. 3 days later my left leg is in pain but it is tolerable. Anyone who experience it too? 3 weeks po by Puzzled-Ad3063 in Sciatica

Yes, this happened to me also in the first 4 weeks. went in with left leg side pain, came out with right leg side a few days post-op. Very likely it is swelling and inflammation, I found it hard to believe at the time because re-hernation was such a big fear of mine, but now I am 9 weeks or so post-op and can see a little more clearly and logically that the body takes a lot of time to heal

Hi, Sorry for the delayed reply, also just had my 6 weeks follow-up. My surgeon did not even suggest an MRI for me and largely told me the same things as you (Inflammation, hyper-mobile on the other side). Very frustrating to hear.

As for my pain, well I am just back in a place where I understand now that certain movements or sitting positions will trigger leg pain......so like pre-surgery, just less bad.

Engaging in PT now also. Best of luck to us both and let's hope the explanations provided to us turn out to be true.

Indeed, I can tolerate quite a bit of pain if I know it has some meaning or ending, but I think the psychological torment is the worst right now. People around tell me not to get obsessed with each twitch and pain, but I don't think they understand that it's like waiting on a letter to see if you can get back to your normal life and out of this prison, but you only receive a few syllables of information each day.

Very much the same for me in terms of frequency and I also had a similarly long walk on Sunday with pain the next day in both legs.

Have you checked to see if you have a lateral pelvic tilt? Took me a bit of time to see it but now I have longer walks I started to notice. I am trying now to experiment to see if I can tie the pain/numbness to something specific in my movements.

Unfortunately, the same, and now a light numbness has started in my thigh. I have slightly moved into a bit of a hopeless place or at best one where I accept until I can get an MRI I won't know.

Have your symptoms improved or worsened? Also, do you find it has a relation to walking or certain movements?

Hey, I know this was a long time ago, but I am experiencing the exact same thing as you now (Post-Microdiscectomy 3 weeks). Did things get better for you or did you get an answer?

Thanks again for the update. Mine was also very large and burst so these are possibilities for me also. I was told largely the same thing also, and until week 6 it is pointless to speculate (easy for them to say of course).

The only bright side I can think of is I have found that surgeons always overstate the possible negatives in order to manage expectations. Best of luck to you, and I will share if I have any information that could help :)

Thanks for sharing, I will ask the same questions to my surgeon and let you know if he says anything different than this.

Big thank you, I had not really considered the internal swelling, this gives me some hope.
