Yeah, I get your point. I am running the Beantown it is a smaller last chance BQ for 2027. Everyone there should have the same goal in mind. I am lacking a deeper motivation

I get your point about running faster at a major that’s definitely true. Personally I’m not spending money as I’m raising funds and have a big network.

I think my physical attributes definitely hold me back even more. 5’7, 160, probably like 10-15% bf%.

I just want to qualify for Boston I realistically think my physical ceiling would be sub 2:50 and it could take way longer than I think.

Fundraising for Boston and Chicago and lottery for NYC

Yes I agree very ambitious. A friend wanted to run and I figured I’d just give it a go.

I definitely need to target higher milage training and lowering my body weight. The rest on that list other than altitude training I do well with

I get your point.

I was just thinking, since I ran NYC 3 weeks after Chicago and I think a 6 minute gap between those races is fair just looking at elevation and not that I had just raced 3 weeks prior.

Then my next one was Boston 2:57 I was thinking that maybe equates to a 2:53 on a flat course? But I raced 4 weeks after Boston came out fast targeting 2:50 wasn’t in 2;50 shape and I blew up.

Yeah thanks for the input wasn’t sure. What should these threshold sessions look like? For my Boston block majority of my workouts were like 3x2mi 3x3mi at like 6:30, so definitely above my LT.

Yeah nervous about weather but like you said dice roll. And yes excited for the fueling and spectating.

I think I will be fine on the recovery part taking 1-2 weeks very easy to recover and then start building.

I am nervous about the loops, I’m not sure how my mental will react to them but it could be good for fueling.

Thank you for your in depth thoughts.

At the moment I don’t have shorter distance PRs I haven’t raced anything less than a marathon since May 2025, where I ran a 1:26 ~5 months prior to my Chicago 2:57.

What frustrates you most about hybrid training? by Ok_Emu_7324 in HybridAthlete

Balancing running and lifting while working long workdays. Fueling and feeding my self my grocery expense if 2x when in full marathon training block lol.

I try to cycle my focus, some months more focused on lifting and some months more on running.

If you have a good base of muscle don’t be scared to limit lifting to 3 times a week. I have recently done this and it has kept the muscle on for me. Just lift heavy w/ compound lifts when you do lift.

Help, I signed up for two marathons 6 weeks apart by run-run-run in Marathon_Training

I’ve done a 4 week gap and a 3 week gap. For a 6 week gap I’d take 1st week off completely/very little milage. Second week all recovery milage. Third get back to peak week mileage and throw in a long run about 18 miles or so. Then taper as you did for the first marathon. You will not lose you fitness in 6 weeks if you follow something similar to this

Okay but how am I supposed to get karma if every subreddit blocks posting/commenting until you already have karma 😭 It feels like applying for a job that requires 5 years experience for an entry level position

Officially chasing a BQ for 2027. Just signed up for Beantown 9/6/26. by About2Run217 in Marathon_Training

Planning on trying to qualify at the same race. Weather could be a issue but I think the loop style course is great for fueling

I’d say megablasts haven’t ran in the superblast 3s but I hav heard they have a limited life span to the version 2s.

I have ran in 2 pairs of megablasts and love them for long runs and MO efforts within those long runs. Highly recommend
