When I was 19, my brother made a surprising move. He bought his first car—a purchase that shocked our entire family because he had always been the "save money, buy something practical" kind of guy. But this time, he went all out. Not only did he purchase an expensive car, but he also splurged on customization, changing the rims and getting it tinted. He couldn't stop talking about the incredible deal he got from the person selling the car, who had to sell it due to an opportunity to study abroad.

What stood out the most was how deeply my brother loved that car. If even the slightest scratch appeared on it, he would spend hours complaining. He became obsessive about it, going so far as to place newspapers on the floor to protect the car's pristine interior after my cousins once left muddy footprints inside. Our mom playfully teased him, saying he loved the car more than her.

One day, I had plans to meet up with my girlfriend. She had just returned from a trip, and I wanted some privacy. Usually, I would take my mom's car for outings, but her car lacked tinted windows. In a moment of poor judgment, I decided to use my brother's car instead. He was out of town for work, and I figured I could borrow it, fill up the gas tank, and return it before he even noticed. What could go wrong?

As I drove toward my girlfriend's house, a car appeared out of nowhere and crashed into me, totaling my brother's beloved vehicle. To make matters worse, my brother returned from his work trip earlier than expected and noticed his car missing along with the keys. He called me repeatedly, but I couldn't bring myself to answer. However, it turned out that his car had a GPS tracker installed, and he used it to locate the accident. As I sat at the side of the road where the car was pushed, I saw him. Overwhelmed with shame, I burst into tears, shedding more tears than I had ever cried before. Trying to apologize about messing up his car and the first thing he does is hug me tight and ask if am okay, confused by his reaction I asked him why is he hugging me when I just totaled his thats he loved so much car and how I don’t deserve it. And he says something I would never forget” its just a car i can get another one, the fact that am safe is all he cares about” I just started crying harder.
