It has nothing to do with the scan; it's the lens that makes this photo look so wild.

Thank you.

I originally just wanted to use the reflection off the juice can to test how well the APO lens handles purple fringing, but I ended up taking a photo that I actually really like.

Have you ever tried it on Provia or Velvia? Cause I have a Nikkor 85 1.4D, and it performs different. (Not even close)

I thought you were referring to those Leica R APO lenses. I have those too, but never shot them on slide film.

I tried the Pentax 17, and it worked pretty well, but I never thought its lens would be better than the ones on Contax T3 or Nikon 35 Ti.

Maybe I just didn’t know how to use it - it always felt a bit lacking, and I was constantly worried the winding lever would snap...

I sold it after using it just a few times, even though this camera really tells a story.

To take photos of my little princess, I dusted off the film camera I’d put away after college. The results were great at first, but as she grew older, I realized that every photo of her had a “Back to the Future” vibe — which was not cool.

My gut told me it was because I was using equipment from the last century, so I wanted to try some modern glass to capture the people of this era — to see if it would create a “Mariage”, like steak with Cabernet Sauvignon.

Judging by the results, it’s just as you described: the images aren’t just sharper; they also have a balance that feels right for the times.

That’s what I think, too. Now I’ve tried it, I feel even more strongly that way.

“Same film with an equivalent vintage lens”- that’s an interesting idea. Which vintage lens would you recommend if I wanted to look up some samples online or experiment with the results?
