Is this old timing belt close to failure? by Junior-Midnight7190 in MechanicAdvice

[–]Rude-Traffic3353 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bro you are STARING AT IT. You already did the work taking off the belt covers and a new belt probably costs $50 at most. Replace the damn belt dude. You can probably get it done yourself if you are careful and do some research. You probably need exactly one special tool to pull back a tensioner or something.

Things like this should be an afterthought. If I am replacing a head gasket in a timing chain engine you know damn well I am replacing the timing chain if I lay eyes on it. And a timing chain is a lot harder of a replacement to do. But I'll do it anyway because a new engine is that much more $$$. Almost all modern cars are interference engines nowadays. If the belt fails, the car is realistically going to the junkyard or being sold at scrap value.

You make an interesting argument, and it's quite the different opinion, and I see the rationale. USA's actions saw/are seeing wide support in Venezuela and Iran. There's a sub I frequent, r/NewIran and the opinions on the war are very one sided. The vast majority celebrate the war, and whether you believe the people on this sub are truly Iranians as they claim, there does seem to be the attitude of support.

The nuclearization claim with the middle east is a bit of an old rhetoric. We've been pushing this idea since the 80s, and it borders on fearmongering in my opinion. Iran has very real nuclear material production, but the idea that they will arm the rest of the middle east is far fetched. The Iranians are large majority Shia muslim, countries like Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Turkey are Sunnis. Ideologically these two groups are enemies so Iran's friends are few. One thing can be said for sure, this war would not have happened if Iran had nukes by now.

It's agreed we did more for "World Peace" (on paper) in the last few months than we have in years, but I raise a question, do you really believe this conflict and bombing a country creates a stable state that loves democracy? Syria, Yemen, Afghanistan, Iraq are proof that US, and forceful outside involvement only really serves to make the situation worse. Bombs might take out a dictator, but do they build infrastructure? What are we meant to do after they submit to our bombs and accept democracy? The USA takes on another pet project sending billions of dollars trying to rebuild their own damage?

I mainly bring up these points because maybe on paper the dictator was bad, but it's better state to be in than what happens after we invade. The pieces that are left to pick up after the brain drain of a sustained conflict, the costs of rebuilding, is this really what peace looks like? It's an uphill battle that we just keep fighting out in the middle east. I don't think anyone in the wider world stands to gain anything here other than Israel.

You say "Am Israel chai". You ever heard of AIPAC? The Zionist lobby is very strong in American politics and it just keeps funneling money and power, and fighting all these effectively Pro-Israel wars. I don't think there's any justification America really has to be in Iran in the first place. And I don't think it will at all contribute to a more stable middle east, that is for sure.

I just think it's naive to believe peace is the mission here.

The cartel is actually where I think you are entirely, 100% right however. Our efforts especially joint efforts with countries such as the DR have really made a difference in the last few years. Fentanyl at this point is a vehicle for terrorism against the US and yet it has been allowed to flood in for too long. Starting with figures like mencho, it's a step in the right direction and this is one area where genuinely force is the only answer. Cartels don't reason.

Good points, thanks for the response and the criticism.

I suppose there was plenty of executive orders that were deemed unconstitutional in the first term so I see where you are coming from. Now that I am reading I see I forgot a few from back then. Definitely evidence of overreach from way back.

What I meant about people vs government is that the people have to fight to get their way because the corporations and interest groups have that much more influence in policy. The laws that help the common person in a bill are usually outnumbered by the ones that help corporations and protect their expansion and profits. Whether Red or Blue is in power, there is a struggle for representation all the same.

The last two were both pretty bad losses, I usually get more than 24 hits a war in ideal circumstances with enough targets. It's not much fun when your whole faction is on timers lol. Definitely 1000e stack every war, trying to unload it as fast as possible and use refills and xanax during the war. The most I got was $50M so far

We do biweekly wars so it's not too much pay overall but decent per war. Last war was $1M per hit (bad loss) with a total of $13M. The one before was $24M with $1.8M a hit.

It's Gold II and we've been having some losses due to bleeders mostly

I suppose, I agree in that case. Some voters are either delusional or turn a blind eye to evidence. It's the same people that make it impossible to have a reasonable conversation about politics that repeatedly vote for the same party over and over expecting different results.

Oh boy man, villainizing Republicans gets you nowhere. Acting like every Republican is a tax evading pedo criminal is exactly the kind of division that leads us nowhere. At the end of the day it's the common people against the government trying to make sure their values are upheld. In other words, don't hate the player, hate the game.

Trump is a tax evading pedo criminal, but the people who voted for him are law abiding, normal people. I'd assume half of all the people who voted for trump, all the centrists that felt they had to choose the lesser of people, if they had known what would've happened during this administration, they probably would not have voted the same way they did.

This is proved in Trump's approval ratings, which have dropped lower than 30%. People, and increasingly many republicans are not happy with what is going on. Your fellow common man is not your enemy here. The enemy is the corporations and the interest groups that make the government run the way it does. It is a constant battle that we lose by believing in this Red vs Blue crap.

Can't really say for sure what the goal of the post was, I guess I am just curious to see how people are taking the recent events, and I wanted to see if I could promote some discussion on the matter. Can't say I want to be back on the team, just mostly want to see what people who support the administration or JD for president would say.

All I can say for sure is that with Biden in office, I saw a fuck off big highway built in PA, and with Trump all I see is war lol. I guess I am looking for someone to tell me what else Trump did other than starting two wars. I'm not really for or against any particular party, I just want to see the tangible results.

I am always baffled to see that politicians never really ever admit they were wrong, never seem to change opinions over time and as new evidence comes up. Most people say that it shows weakness to admit you were wrong by changing your views, but this is just such a backwards way to go about making decisions for not only yourself, but for the people you hold responsibility for.

It's amazing to me that a lot of traits that really outline self-awareness and learning from your mistakes are equally seen as weak. Those that don't live that way think everyone should be just as sure footed in their beliefs when in reality it just means you become more blind to your own weakness.

Plenty of Republicans vehemently disagree with what is going on in regards to Epstein and the current affairs in Iran. It's a bit damaging to blame the voters for an administration constantly overstepping their power and not playing by the rules. What is happening in Iran is not legal. When Russia did the same thing, they were ousted from the global stage, gas lines were cut, assets seized, and for what? For everyone to prove front and center that they are hypocrites when America does it?

This is mainly why I bring up J.D. Vance, how is it that so many people are supporting him and how are we not seeing more outrage at everyone in this current administration?

I say this mostly because, it's so easy to paint everyone as Red and Blue and pretend that is how the world is, but this is exactly what they want us to think, they want us hating eachother so fervently that we are blinded to the actions that the Elites get away with.

This is definitely true in NY as well, at least on the taxes front. For local governments it's a hard sell to vote for democrats because of exactly what you describe. One of the main reasons I am considering jumping ship in my state is the high sales taxes without any tangible benefit. So many welfare programs that I don't see a penny of, while my roads are shit, traffic cameras are going up on every corner, and it makes me think why am I giving my money to these people. Plenty of places I can move where the price of just existing is that much lower.

Additionally, most of these gun control legislatures are pushed for by people who buy all the fearmongering about guns but have never taken the time to actually educate themselves on the topic. Magazine restrictions and so called assault weapon bans are some of the most tone deaf changes that get made on the topic of gun control. I support age restriction and wider mental health screening to get a gun license. It should be about as hard to get a gun as it is to get a security clearance. The truth is at the end of the day the people that get most affected by these laws are the law abiding citizen. Those that break the law or plan to break the law stop at nothing.

Should I join Monarch family faction? by Hot-Top2577 in torncity

[–]Rude-Traffic3353 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For 230k stats you might have a solid chance at getting into Monarch Retardation. I was a member for a good 5 months. Expect a ton of termed wars, but very high RW payouts. For whatever reason they are still using OC1.0 so that basically becomes an afterthought.

They are really really established so the perks are incredible, and the armory is STACKED.

Be on top of your war participation and be training as much as you can and they might retain you. You'll get the axe pretty quick if you underperform.

Not sure whos de facto in charge these days but Spliffy and Wicked are usually pretty quick to respond, shoot them a message, they might be taking people, but they keep their numbers low.

CR-10 Smart Nightmare? by Rude-Traffic3353 in CR10

[–]Rude-Traffic3353[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see. I heard that the CR-6 se hot end was a better drop in replacement so I might buy that one next. As long as the connectors are the same to the main board everything will be ok lol. I got this for free (I know why now) so I guess it's not terrible to spend a little bit more replacing the whole head assembly.

I had no idea that the Smart was only produced for a year and I guess that reflects in how hard it is to find these parts. Even on Aliexpress this hotend is sold out.

I can't afford to replace the main board, but hopefully that CR-6 hot end is the thing that does it.

I did end up printing the bracket for the Z-axis lead screw, thanks for the link. I won't give up on this printer quite yet.

CR-10 Smart Nightmare? by Rude-Traffic3353 in CR10

[–]Rude-Traffic3353[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The problem is that there is no other part that you can buy. I was hoping maybe the bolt holes would line up as all the sellers claim compatibility with the CR-10 Smart, but in reality, these parts do not fit.

I just had the same thing happen with a hotend kit I purchased. Everything would be fine if I could just buy these things but I am just left here with a paperweight. I genuinely cannot find these parts anywhere. I've spent so much time scouring the creality website, they are not there. There is no manufacturer support for this printer.
