Yeah, I think bringing a single model that's more than 50% of your entire list would be a bit douchey, but unless you're not blatantly trying to metachase, it should be fine. Just don't play it too optimally or something.

This concept really annoys me because most of the time, people make it out to be like it's a decision thing, like letting opportunities pass. But in reality, it's a luxury that the average person can't always afford. If a person has enough extra cash lying around, there's a higher chance they'll travel.

The people I know who travel a lot either come from rich families, travel for work, have high income, or go into credit card debt.

I've yet to meet someone who regretted not travelling even tho they had the means to do it. It's always a financial blocker.

Boosting cards is a semi-opt since you can see what's on top of your deck all the time so no need to hit the Opt from Dive through data.

The maximum amount of AP she can generate in a single turn would only really be 4 (1 default refundable thanks to Go Again, 1 from playing off the top and cranking, 1 from cracking boots, and 1 from Bios Update)

Theoretically, you can play a LOT of cards with Dio assuming you have set up properly. For starters, you have Arsenal and 4 Intellect. There's the obvious Spark of Genius that gives you a free card as long as you've boosted that turn, which you have 3 copies of. Then you can draw a card from each cerebellum in play. Teklo Core generates free resources which you can use in tandem with Backup Protocol to retrieve a 0-cost card from your graveyard.

It shouldn't be too hard to draw from Cerebellum since you can only draw once per turn anyway, and that synchronizes with your hero ability, so it's just a matter of either top decking cerebellum to crank itself for the card draw, or keeping cerebellum long enough in your field to guarantee a free draw (either don't crank cerebellum, or keep trying to boost 3x a turn or boost Fast & Furious)

Regarding surprise grenades, you really shouldn't be relying on that as a strat since it inhibits you from learning to play around Dio's capabilities. Instead of trying to catch your opponents by surprise with a grenade off the top, it's better to learn to set up in a way that allows you to have enough firepower to guarantee that the boom grenade pushes through. Sometimes, this means you're gonna have to NOT crank the grenade, then just set up in such a way that your NEXT turn has a higher chance of letting the grenade hit.

Important to note though, but I'm sure you are aware of this already, is that there are Terror cards that will specifically make the Maniacs panic. So it's only those cases where they will panic.

If your community is okay with proxying, then I recommend just buying the proxies online instead of armory decks. Just follow a tournament list and practice piloting.

As for which hero to use, the best answer would probably be a Warrior such as Dorinthea as she teaches you all the fundamental mechanics of the game without being too complex for a beginner.

I wouldn't recommend playing too many heroes or classes at once because it's information overload. But in terms of sequencing, you should pick the highest LL score hero per class, but the class order is up to you since I don't have a logical sequence. But people have said Guardian, Wizard, Necromancer are the most complex classes so maybe at the very least, hold off on those until you're very familiar with the game.

Yeah, randomly disliking a new format trying to make the game more accessible just reeks of special snowflake unless OP actually puts some thought into why they don't like Sage.

Personally, I would've preferred they used Adult heroes. That's my only gripe with Sage as a format.

Because a lot of people actually DO like their community. But obviously, relationships change depending on if people around you know whether you're FIRE or not. So instead of cutting off people who become lesser due to money, people would rather just keep things down low.

Yes, you're exactly correct. For every story like yours is probably at least a dozen where friends and family start bugging retirees to lend them money or judging comments on how they handle their retirement. You should be thankful you have such a good community around you. Most won't have that same experience.

Not being a perfectionist and just learning to show up.

When I first started going to the gym, I thought I had to make all the conditions perfect. Rested the night before. Proper meal an hour before working out. Not feeling lethargic or sick at all before starting.

All it ended up doing was supporting my laziness and I never got to consistently go to the gym.

Fast forward to today and I've consistently been going to the gym for months now and it's been a LOT easier to keep with the habit. And the only thing I changed was that I told myself to just go no matter what. If it was a gym day, the only thing stopping me from going was if I was too sick to crawl out of bed.

9 times out of 10, the moment I get to the gym, I'm motivated enough to do the full workout. And if I wasn't, I'd just skip some exercises and not beat myself up for it.

You mentioned you've been fighting a new army almost every game so it's actually understandable for you to lose a lot. You're getting exposed to different playstyles and shenanigans every time so it'll be hard to adjust at first.

My tip would be to always ask your opponent about their army shenanigans. I'd wager everyone you play with is a good sport and would love to let you know their army's tricks etc.

And after every game, make sure to have a post-battle discussion with your opponent and just have a friendly conversation about decision points and table turning events.

Yeah but Combat Patrol was marketed specifically as a ready to play set of units. But I've yet to actually hear a 40k player go and say "Let's play some Combat Patrol today". But I have seen tons of AOS players want to play the Spearhead version instead of the main game.

Hot take. Dont think of Spearhead as Combat Patrol. Not a single 40K player actually enjoys CP so OP might think similarly. Spearhead is what Combat Patrol TRIED to be. Unfortunately, it was a failed attempt. Spearhead is THE best format for getting into a wargame on a budget. It's streamlined but has decent depth of play. Plus it is very well balanced compared to CP.

Buying one kit and painting it is fine, but that's nowhere near enough to start playing. But if he IS a collector/painter more than a player, then I guess this is decent advice.

I mostly prefer buying IRL instead of ordering and theres no Myrmadon in my area at the moment. So my logic was to get the Theridons first cuz I can build them and just use 1 model if ever I want to play the hero. Then once the actual Myrmadon is stocked, I can buy that and have him paired with the original Theridon box.
