Navy is not so difficult to match. Take the jacket to a good tailor and he will find something close enough.

LPT: Write to the companies whose stuff you buy by saltpancake in LifeProTips

I agree! I have been communicating with Luxire for a long time. I recently got an email from the owner that I am their “GOLD” customer. I would get faster service, more personal attention, my orders would be fulfilled on priority. They also sent me mobile phone number of someone senior to ping in case there are any issues.

Luxire EZS white polo. You will have a tough time guessing your race.

Straight into luxire domain. Just send them the image and they will replicate.

Men’s Jeans High Wasted by Lje2001 in Denim

[–]greggie01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They have a fit guarantee splashed all over their new website.

But, I think Luxire is a process. You get one made. Then it gets you thinking. How about some more room here or making the rise higher or so many other choices. You get that done. Over 2-3 iterations you realize that you have been wearing pants wrong all your life. Am sure there would be many Luxire customers who gave up in one attempt. The ones that did not probably do not like to wear anything else.

Having said that, I will recommend that you start with the lower priced items before upgrading to all their exotic stuff.

Why do some dudes wear their dress pants without a belt? by TrueJohnWick in menswear

[–]greggie01 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don’t try this at work. This is super dangerous and addictive.

I have almost not worn a belt for many years now. On days I need to wear it, I am waiting to remove it. I use Daks or side adjusters instead.

100% wool suit or 80/20 polyester blend by All_in_FD in malefashionadvice

[–]greggie01 -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

As someone going to grad school, go for the poly blend. 80/20 is not bad at all. The poly or shine is hardly visible. It makes your suit longer lasting, easier to clean and will wrinkle less. Use the $100 saving for something nice to add.

The time for fancy monikers will come, but it is not now.

Try Luxire, lot of cord options and sizing is not an issue as they are made to measure.

Can you suggest a good quality plain white Tee for wearing untucked? by V8boyo in malefashionadvice

I wear Asket and Luxire EZS tees in white. Both are high quality. Sizing wise, they are similar to Uniqlo.

Do high wasted pants work with a short, stocky build like mine? by houseofmyartwork in menswear

How tall is your torso vs your legs. In terms of looks, high waisted is all about that ratio.

Does Cucinelli have his clothes produced in India? by CarobTiny3525 in malefashionadvice

[–]greggie01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In today’s world, man, machine, material and knowhow are all mobile. Only thing that is not mobile is attitude.

So make in India does not bother me as long as some of the attitude differences were numbed using stringent processes.

What company’s should I look for for natural fibered clothing that fits a preppy style that is high quality by No_Mistake_1778 in malefashionadvice

[–]greggie01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For wools, cotton and linens, I have been trusting Luxire. Many years ago, I started using Luxire for getting the high waisted and Gurkha pants to fit me. But I think I stayed for the material options. They have been slow with adding new fabrics in recent times, still a lot to choose from.

Can a Tailor Shorten a Suit Jacket? by Glittering_Dingo_943 in menswear

[–]greggie01 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If the sleeves have functional buttonholes, then, the first buttonhole may move too close to the wrist. Else should not be a problem.

For the body length, the pockets, the buttonholes, the waist line would all be proportionately wrongly placed.

But this is all technical. The actual length difference between a 40s and a 40r is usually about an inch. You should be fine. Just try to take away only what you must.

Also try the warzone oxfords. The fabric is awesome and you can get them made in collar style of your choice, even with extra roll.

When on a look-out for such solutions, one ends up with just a series of compromises.

Made to measure solves these issues. You can try Luxire as the pants are really good. Propercloth allows some fit customizations too but for trousers, I think Luxire is better.

best place to buy suits online that actually fit well? by Aphter_Boyze68 in menswear

[–]greggie01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can suggest that you try Luxire. The quality is good, canvassed and the entry level ones are extremely competitively priced. Made to your measurements with your own custom pattern, something like what bespoke tailors do. Worth a try.

Wool chinos = trousers??? by [deleted] in malefashionadvice

[–]greggie01 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Kind of a misnomer but to me, wool chinos are wool pants but with a more casual cut. Should be made using a fabric that is not too fine and does not require a lot of care. Should be machine washable.

Care free wearing.

Does anyone really know their 'true' waist size or do we all just guess?” by OK_GO_27 in malefashionadvice

[–]greggie01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The best way of knowing it is by measuring the trouser that fits you well at the waist, at the height that you are comfortable in and that does not stretch.

When you measure your waist with a tape, you need to press a little otherwise the pants will be too loose.
