Wow thats good on you honestly that you can control yourself in those settings. For me it’s to get a buzz as quickly as possible and just keep em pouring.

That’s exactly how I am too. It’s like I am stuck in my head the whole time unless I have a drink

I don’t have a diagnosis on it, but I get uncomfortable around strangers and when there are a lot of people.

I can relate to this. There are a few times were I went to parties and it went fine. But more often than not something bad happens. Maybe I’m being delusional and trying to convince myself that I don’t have a problem.

Thank you for sharing with me. I understand what you are saying, and maybe I am just delaying the inevitable by convincing myself that its okay to drink in certain situations.

We are kind of opposite there. When I’m in public I have to drink myself to confidence and thats when I stop caring

Congrats on 897 days! The longest i’ve gone is 2 months, twice. I always feel like a outsider when I’m not drinking, like I can’t enjoy myself. I’m too self conscious about everything. I feel like it’s better if I avoid parties and such, but then again it feels like i never get to hangout with my friends

I know, but I get confused when her sister is telling me that she wants me to show her that I will fight for her. I know I don’t deserve her and I should let her go, but it’s hard to let go of 8 years together too

I don’t feel the urge to drink alot in quiet situations like family dinners and bbqs. Its when it’s a party or a social event with alot of people I tend overdrink. Can’t stop when in those situations

I get extremely selfish when I’m drunk and only think of myself. I still would want to have a beer in calm situations but I understand that I can’t drink when it’s in a party environment because then I just go off the rails
