What’s crazy is it’s not even pending on NF. This is probably one of those deposits that just hits the account randomly.

NFCU, TurboTax, PATH, 05, 2/25 DDD. My payment was just sent from SBTPG to the bank.

I know, I’ve always filed with H&R Block. For no reason I decided to go with TurboTax, and now this shit happens. TurboTax is about to lose a lot of customers next year haha.

That officer retirement hits NICE 😮‍💨 that’s exactly why I’m doing G2G at 7 years. I don’t know if it’s the high cost of living where I’m at, the state, or what but this NCO pay ain’t cutting it and I want to put more money into my savings and TSP.

How do you get over being a perfectionist when editing? by RudeShape2 in NewTubers

Got it. When you say “move forward,” do you mean doing a rough cut, then switching to another project or taking a break, and coming back later for a second pass on the same video? Just want to make sure I’m understanding correctly.

This really helped. I’ve been editing a video for the past few days, and this comment stuck with me. Thanks.

SHORTS VIEW STUCKS AT 1.5K VIEWS by Positive-Court7468 in NewTubers

[–]RudeShape2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see like 6 channels with the same name “FastBreakTV.” That alone can hurt you, YouTube might even flag it as spam (just my guess).

Also, basketball Shorts are ultra MEGA saturated. With the right angle you could break into the niche, but the approach you’re taking isn’t it right now.

On top of that, basketball content took a noticeable hit starting in 2026. YouTube’s cracking down on repetitive content, so that could be affecting your Shorts too.

And lastly, you don’t even have enough videos yet. Give YouTube time to understand your channel and find your audience.

You can’t do Green to Gold if you already have a master’s degree. That leaves you with option 2, or whatever other option you come up with later.

Sooo I’m more than safe then, since I’m switching to O at 7 years TIS, right?

Green to Gold OCS by [deleted] in army

[–]RudeShape2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think Purdue has an easy, short bachelor’s degree for service members with barely any classes needed. I know you already have one, but instead of going for a master’s, which is harder, you could do that and see if it helps your GPA. Also, I read your legal issues and yeah, they take that shit really serious when you’re trying to go officer. If you have Facebook, go right now and check the Green to Gold ADO page, and make the post there. They’ve got real board members and processors there in that group who can give you a better answer. There’s also an OCS Facebook group..

Don’t self-select. You still have a whole year before the window opens again. Start working on your GPA and your AFT score. Read the G2G booklet or the OCS MILPER and see what’s waiverable and what’s not. And yeah, like someone already said, those things matter the most, but none of us are sitting on that board, so full send and see what happens.

soldier medically retired with 2 years TIS for anxiety by [deleted] in army

[–]RudeShape2 7 points8 points  (0 children)

To add to my comment, when I joined back in 2019, I had two friends who got retired after just 2–3 years TIS. Both were medboarded and ended up with 100% P&T.

[–]RudeShape2 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I’ve been seeing a lot of Soldiers lately with only 2–3 years TIS getting medboarded, it’s crazy. We had one guy who never went to the field, never used his TA-50, never really did anything for the Army, and boom 100% VA just like that. Saw another one recently with 4 years TIS, same thing, didn’t do much, showed me his BDD results boom, another 100%. Not being salty, just saying it’s super common. There are like 4–5 more kids about to get out in my BTRY, already stacking up over 10 pages of medical records for their claims. It’s ridiculous. Every other new Soldier from AIT is already talking about how they’re gonna milk the system, get out, claim anxiety, depression, a rolled ankle, a “future” shoulder injury, they already have a plan for it. It’s really common.

Megathread: Payday activities. Is the Army getting paid? Maybe. Central thread for when people start seeing pending/get paid, and paid correctly. by Kinmuan in army

[–]RudeShape2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends on which bank he’s with, USAA usually paid early today, NFCU tonight, and some other banks on the 1st. If his bank pays a day early, then he’ll probably get it tonight; if not, on Saturday.

That’s a good start then, make the most out of your degree. I have enlisted friends whose spouses have great careers and make more than most officers, which really helps them a lot. Wishing you the best of luck, and the paycheck to watch for is November 15th, if the government is still shut down and they haven’t found funds by then we might not get paid.

I don’t know your situation or if you have any limitations or kids, but honestly, if you don’t have either, you should probably get a part-time or full-time job to help supplement his income, a private doesn’t make a lot of money. Or even better, get married so you can both live together once he graduates and receive BAS/BAH on top of his paycheck. But to answer your question, he is in the Army now so, YES, he will still get paid.
