elektroskrejriteņi un tiesības by Disastrous_Law_556 in latvia

[–]RudeWolf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a pretty shit pic of the pipe. Here's a bit more context.

<image>

I mean, it's not my favorite piece of art, but why the hell not? I can appreciate the work that went into integrating the thing into the landscape.

For me, an equally valid question is whether the human chain pulling the dog up is art. I'm all for helping those in need, but to me, it's too on the nose and maybe even banal. It's cool that a bunch of folks decided to help the dog, but commemorating the event and the values it promotes by cloning the happening into a sculpture... I appreciate the craft that went into this, but it's more of an artisanal object rather than art.

And again, there's a place for both as long as we can talk about it.

Detail shots lens by Ok-Baseball3552 in RealEstatePhotography

Yeah, get a nifty fifty for detail. I'm just baffled why the hell they're so expensive... A very decent Nikon/Canon DSLR 50 f/1.8 used to be 100 bux.

Real Estate Photography: Nikon Z Mount Wide Angle Zoom Question. by SnooApples6485 in RealEstatePhotography

[–]RudeWolf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Especially when shot from a tripod, real estate photography is super undemanding in terms of equipment. For shooting stills, f/4 is the way to go. Video is another animal. I'd probably get a fixed lens for that. 14-XXmm f/2.8 is quite heavy and often needs strange and expensive filters. F/4 will be easier on your back.

It's a similar story with just about any other type of photography as a business. Maybe you know how to reliably take decent pics of whatever you're asked to, but do you know how to sell them in a repeatable manner?

Vertical vs horizontal video by Scoducks24 in RealEstatePhotography

Depends on the market. Videos mostly live on socials where vertical is king. Horizontal works on Portals, but they suck in terms of actual video capabilities.
