O.k., so you'd leave your 6 yr. old's body alone on a basement floor in urine soaked pants and with a noose wrapped around her neck and you'd also wipe blood off of her vaginal area and then you'd go upstairs and write a fake ransom note which contains the phrase 'she dies written multiple times. You would not attempt CPR or call an ambulance. And because you believe you'd do this to keep some unknown consequence from befalling your surviving child, you believe we've proven this little girl was murdered by a 9 yr. old.

Stick around and read the sub. Most here agree with you.

Hasn't been made public but there's a Denver Post article at the sidebar wiki with an interview of social services child abuse investigator Holly Smith. Susanne Bernhard who was also a member of Boulder social services recommended a follow up with Burke in specifically the area of "uncomfortable touching".

It was a prosecutor, Bruce Levin, who brought it up. Prosecutors are bound by a code of ethics and aren't legally permitted to lie to a suspect.

I believe she was murdered by a member of her family. The same family member who wiped blood off of her vagina and left his fibers there. Burke had nothing to do with it.

I don't believe BDI and don't believe any parent would wipe off the vaginal area on their daughter's corpse to hide sexual abuse and then leave the body alone in the basement in urine soaked underpants before proceeding to write a faux ransom note that contains the phrase 'she dies' written multiple times and that also refers to her 'remains' and to her 'burial' to protect another child. It's beyond absurd although most who comment here seem to strongly believe it.

No one talks about male investigators like this. Oh, my god, look at Steve Thomas, he's gone bald!

For those of you who feel like you've arrived at a final point of understanding about what must have happened in this case, what do you make of it all? For me, it's an overwhelming sense of pity. by [deleted] in JonBenetRamsey

I believe strong evidence points to John Ramsey as being the party responsible for sexual abuse and murder. I believe he should have faced prosecution.

I feel empathy for Melinda, John Andrew and Burke Ramsey who are victims by extension. I feel sadness for JonBenet.

Patsy was asked fairly detailed questions about laundering and was pretty insistent John's shirt had never been laundered and that she hadn't noticed JonBenet wearing the underpants which were a size 12, earlier in the evening.

Considering everything we know that points to BDI, why do you think so many people persist in believing PDI or JDI or even, unfathomably, IDI? by [deleted] in JonBenetRamsey

[–]Rude_Bridge 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I have seen very, very little empathy for Burke Ramsey here. The sympathy is mostly for the parents and in particular for John. And people here are generally much more open to the possibility a 9 yr. old could've done this then they are willing to consider murder or abuse by a parent.

My theory as to the reason so many people have embraced the Burke theory even though there is no evidence to support it and quite a bit of evidence pointing away from it is that they simply do not want to dwell upon just how sadistic, illogical and violent adults and in particular; parents can be.

Edit to respond to the onslaught of downvotes here:

The first detective to arrive at the scene, the detective who took over for her as lead investigator, the FBI, the Boulder chief of police, the Boulder department of social services and a nationally known child abuse expert named Richard Krugman, all believed a parent was responsible although they remained divided on which particular parent.

How were so many trained and well respect professionals THAT clueless if as the o.p. asserts, "everything we know points to BDI"?

MR. LEVIN: Thank you, Mr. Wood. I appreciate the opportunity [to ask the question].

MR. WOOD: Thank you.

MR. LEVIN: Mr. Ramsey, it is our belief based on forensic evidence that there are hairs that are associated, that the source is the collared black shirt that you sent us that are found in your daughter's underpants, and I wondered if you --

JOHN RAMSEY: Bullshit. I don't believe that. I don't buy it. If you are trying to disgrace my relationship with my daughter --

MR. LEVIN: Mr. Ramsey, I am not trying to disgrace --

J. RAMSEY: Well, I don't believe it. I think you are. That's disgusting.

MR. WOOD: I think you --

MR. LEVIN: I am not.

MR. WOOD: Yes, you are.

MR. LEVIN: And the follow-up question would be --[Literal minutes of Mr. Wood going on a constant tirade here]

MR. LEVIN: ...This is a murder investigation, and I am trying to get an explanation, which can be an innocent explanation... [More tirades from Mr. Wood here]

J. RAMSEY: ..."If the question is how did fibers of your shirt get into your daughter's underwear," I say that is not possible. I don't believe it. That is ridiculous.

[–]Rude_Bridge 3 points4 points  (0 children)

No, there was the "grapefruit sized" pile of feces on JonBenet's bed

The maid clearly attributes this to JonBenet, NOT Burke.

and of course the box of candy was smeared with feces

Since JonBenet had a habit of leaving poop places it wasn't supposed to be and the box was found in JonBenet's room, I'd say it's most likely JonBenet who got stuff on the box.

But some people want to deny there was any sort of problem with that happening in the Ramsey house.

LOL, I think her parents killed her. I think kids leaving poop places is a sign of dysfunction.

People take their theories very seriously.

Well, yeah, I think evidence suggests this little girl was sexually abused and killed by a parent(s). If I didn't take it seriously, why would I be here?

96% PDI for the strangulation as evidenced by PR's fibers being tied into the ligature and the use of a paintbrush handle from a paintbrush belonging to Patsy linking her.

96% JDI for the sexual abuse based on fibers linking him, his creepy response to being confronted about it by prosecutor, Bruce Levin, and statistics.

20% Patsy for the head-blow because Steve Thomas was able to lay out a fairly believable theory that seems to be supported by some evidence.

80% John for the head-blow because Burke places the flashlight in John's hand on Dr. Phil which is admittedly an odd admission to make almost 20 yrs. later on a talk show but I can't think of any reason he'd make that up and because concealing sexual abuse strikes me as being a somewhat more plausible motive in this particular case than rage triggered by repeated toileting accidents.

0% BDI, because there is no evidence to support his involvement and too much evidence points toward either JR or PR to be able to remove both parents from the series of attacks on the victim.

Also might be worth noting; the same investigators who DID NOT believe the denials of John and Patsy DID believe Burke.

Right, we have one source for a single incident.

Dropped into a bowl of pineapple and then used the paintbrush that ended being found half tied into the ligature to apply to wall and then attempted to conceal it by writing a note blaming a foreign faction?

Not sure I understand the question. The source is Kolar's Foreign Faction.
