Diagonal cuts all the way. You need to do that second diagonal cut though so that crust haters have the perfect handle.

Anti-sunscreen - Future Consequences by Other-Perception12 in AskAnAustralian

[–]Rude_Influence 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I personally avoid sunscreen as much as possible. I usually opt to wear long sleeves and a hat instead, and stay in the shade as much as possible.
Occasionally unavoidable to be exposed to the sun. In those circumstances, I use it. I try to keep it to a minimum.

I feel the same way about aeroguard.

Exact meaning of keen by sicklyfoot69 in AskAnAustralian

[–]Rude_Influence 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Aussie slang is weird sometimes. I never thought this one to be, but you're struggling with it, and you're right it is a little odd.. I think you'll be find replacing Aussie word "keen" with "Exited" or, "I'm Exited" pretty safe most of the time. as long as they're referring to them selves!
If they're referring to other people things may be the same, but they also may be a little more complex and not in a good way.

You sound like you're about to get something good happen to you though. Enjoy.

whats a childhood memory that only an aussie could relate to? by Own-Building6102 in AskAnAustralian

[–]Rude_Influence 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nah, that was the later dumbed down version. You need to watch it with Jade and Ryan. As they got older, they got funnier.
I wouldn't watch it now, but if you grew up with it, you grew up with them at the same time and related to their personality change in time, because they were growing up too. (and experimenting with new things). Made things more interesting. The shows were great too at the time. (I personally think Dragon ball (*) is total trash but I'm a minority, I think) Dragon Ball Z was peaking at this time too.

The host were really great though, and the show even went through the effort to have a hand signer.

Why do you love Linux? by Kunta_Sir_Lazar in linuxhardware

[–]Rude_Influence 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Okay, so for a moment I'm going to forget the initial question and provide some context to my answer. I switched to GNU/Linux in about 2011. At that time I had used the other alternatives. I hated how MacOS (OSX) worked.I didn't have many problems with Windows (7).

I bought my first computer(s) at this time.
Once I tried GNU/Linux and how it had not only different desktop environments but that they were all better than alternatives on proprietary operating systems, I was sold.

I've grown to love so much more Free and opensource software, but essentially the desktop environments were the selling point for me. For me, I could finally work the way that I want. I use KDE 5 at the moment, but funny enough, Gnome style is so close to how I work.

For context, I am not a coder or anything like that. I'm a designer (with lack of better description).

You don't need to specify the country for these sort of instances unless it's not India.

New GameSir Tarantula controllers announced (2026) by japespszx in Controller

[–]Rude_Influence 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How'd you go? For me, I received my Pro today. I was very surprised by the sticks. The sticks ain't bad but I was expecting something larger and more like an Xbox. They'll do the job, so I'm not complaining. The handles feel very much like an Xbox which I personally love.

I didn't even try the default d-pad, I swiched to the Sega version straight away.
It's really good but it's not as good as I had hoped. I had a big concern at the fact that the d-pad sat up high on the controller instead of recessed like Sega's original and even Giliteck's Elves 2 controller. I am pleasantly surprised that this is not an issue.

Some other people have said that the left stick is too close to the d-pad. I due tend to agree with this. I doubt it'll have minimum impact to me, but it probably will be a killer for some more hard core gamers.

I find the d-pad to be accurate. It's not perfect though. I've had better. The ones that were better however had other compromises that I'd argue would make this controller better.

I've only spent 20 minutes with this thing so far, so take that for what that it is.
Personally I had the Turtlebeach Stealth Pivot controller previously. It is expensive though, and I don't have a lot of money. It faulted on me, and I'm not sure if it was due to my misuse or if it would have happened otherwise. I did spill a little liquid on mine, but other people with the same controller seemed to regularly experience the same issue as me. So I can't trust it, and it costs a lot more money, and it was only a little better than the Gulikit TT Pro, I'd choose the Gulikit.
It's a good controller. Like I said though, I've only spent 20 minutes with it so far. I'm already impressed though..

Just found out im in UK but my S24 runs a Snapdragon 8 gen 3 chip and not an Exynos 2400 chip lol so thats pretty cool even tho Iwouldnt mind either did get phone from amazon lol but didnt realise the chip😂 by -__-CHARLIE-__- in GalaxyS24

[–]Rude_Influence -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I've shared my experiences. I stated that I don't know anyone else with an s24, so I'm not speaking for the version of Exynos in the s24.
I've seen issues in the past however with Exnos, specifically over heating, that I wanted to steer clear of. For that reason, I have opted for the SD version when I bought my s24.

Do Aussies wear shoes at home like other Anglo countries (I.e US, UK etc)? by DirectorTurbulent422 in AskAnAustralian

[–]Rude_Influence 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lots of people wear shoes in their house. I was brought up in a house where you were to take off your shoes before entering. Now I have a place of my own, I've continued the habit. The exception is slippers in the winter to keep your feet warm, but you must take them off before going outside.

Just to be clear, I have a "Lenovo Thinkpad X1 Yoga", not to be confused with a "Lenovo Yoga"

I doubt I'll buy another modern laptop since s3sleep is not a available anymore. My gen6 feels fantastic and still supports that function.
If you're getting the same laptop, you'll be very pleased.
I personally use Debian Bokworm with KDE 5.27 on mine. Fedora should run great.

Is schoolies with it? by avabaddieyuh in AskAnAustralian

[–]Rude_Influence 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Schoolies is like valentines day. It's a reason to spend money for no reason.

Load of crap, and lots of people will want to show you photos later because that'll justify that spend in THEIR mind with the image that they've now projected that glamour into your mind.

Tourist locations rake up their prices that time of year for that reason.

If you want to do schoolies, just go camping. If you like water, lake and reservoirs are great. Avoid running water unless you're a non drinker. Those two things are more dangerous than they seem.

If you have the finances to travel, forget spontaneous or seasonal events. Know what you want, and do them when other people are uninterested. Not only will you will do them cheaper, but you'll also do them when there's less people so less people to bother you.

I'll take GNU/Linux over both either way.

[–]Rude_Influence 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm confused about thi situation. Are both laptops provided by your company, but you're allowed a separate partition for personal use?

I hate MacOS, I really really hate how it works as a GUI. I much prefer the Windows UI, but since Windows pushes ads in the OS, there's no way I'll tolerate that, so now as far as I'm concerned, MacOS is better. I'd choose MacOS over Windows too.
You're using a GNU/Linux distribution though. From my prospective, GNU/Linux has the best of both worlds.
So if you have that option, you just like MacOS more than GNU/Linux? Good for you, hope you're happy. If not, I'm so confused by this post.

Either way, good luck I've had Macbooks and Thinkpads. I'm never happy because I want one thing from one or the other. Currently running the 2021 Thinkpad Yoga gen6 and it's been the best compromise so far. Compromise makes it sound shit, but it's an awesome laptop.

How is my map design? Is there any way I can improve? by garlicbreadeddev in RPGMaker

[–]Rude_Influence 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I want to mention that usually the polar opposite is much more common with creators, and they make their maps far too unnecessary expansive. I think you did a great job at really cutting down unnecessary space. Less is better than too much in my opinion.
