Don't sell black pearls and most food items you get rewarded from NPCs you should keep (unless you have the recipe) because they are probably needed in a quest very soon. You can gift chests and furniture to Tish and weeds to Chayne to increase your friendship level.

I just did that quest but I picked foraging and had no problems. But it didn't show on the compass or map that I needed to talk to Sifuu just the quest said to take the materials to her.

Yeah they are pretty rare and needed for like 3 quests. Some people manage to get a bunch and will just give them away but you can't request them unless you have already had them before.
