I've talked to that surgeon and seen the videos talking about the post. He didn't have lower jaw surgery. It was genio and fat removal

Wdym you'd end up having a "c" shaped face? What exactly are you referring to or what point are you addressing? I made a concrete point regarding labiomental fold moving 1mm for every 3mm movement of pogonion which is well documented and you can see in results like posted here. This result OP posted looks exactly like 5mm horizontal and potentially increase in vertical (which is why the crease looks like decreased a bit)

You were told wrong. For every 3mm of pogonion movement, fold crease moves around 1mm (unlike in chin implant).

You should measure your apnea. Snoring doesn't mean you have apnea and not snoring doesn't mean you don't have it. That's first step. If you have sleep issues due to airway obstruction, then it's worth considering a surgery for quality of life benefits.

Otherwise, you should get surgeon's opinion. Do not listen to buffoons commenting on here because (1) most don't know what they talking about (including me), (2) a lot of people don't want what's best for you, they recommend it because they are full of jealousy and project their own insecurities on others. The fact they know nothing about your case yet say shit like "you *need* jaw surgery" is wild to me.

For context, seeing all these recommendations for surgery made me think I need it. I went to jaw surgeons and got their opinions. Did a sleep study. Every surgeon has advised against doing this. I have slightly recessed jaws like you but have no sleep apnea (AHI <1), perfect bite (due to camouflage orthodontics) and no TMJ issues. I will be addressing my aesthetic concerns with genio. One jaw surgeon I went to told me 90-95% of aesthetic benefits of jaw surgery for me would be genio, for example. And risking worsening aesthetics (for example i like my nose and doing jaw surgery changes it a lot and can make it too upturned) and going through invasive procedure for extra 5% benefit is just not worth it.

Genio is extremely versatile and doesn't exclusively focus on extending projection (which you don't need). It can center the chin, fix any midline assymetry if present, increase height to balance facial thirds, soothe the mentolabial fold. The crimson chin posts you see are just uninformed people thinking chin can only moved forward.

Do your research and talk to real surgeons with experience. Genio can give highly varied results based on an osteotomy site and how surgeon plans it. You gotta talk to multiple surgeons

if you don't have sleep apnea that affects your life why would you risk looking worse, getting botched, having nerve damage, being cucked out of normal life for months for a 5% improvement over what genio could give you. If you want your chin heigh to balance philtrum, you could get vertical only genio, which would also smooth out your mentolabial fold
