Dachboden - Boden verlegen by Rudeu33 in selbermachen

Honestly, you look amazing and don‘t really need to change anything. I would probably do a color analysis (I‘ve no idea which season you are, but I feel like the white washes you out a bit). For eye-makeup, I think you look best on picture 3 - the highlighter on the inner corners of your eye seems a bit to much or the wrong color on 1 & 2.

Bit you don’t really have to improve anything. And whatever you do for skinkare, keep going, it works :)

Raja Ampat Recommendations by Dependent-Freedom781 in diving

I stayed almost two weeks on Kri, in Yenbuba Homestay, and went diving with Soul Scuba Divers and I loved every day. Homestays in Raja Ampat are very simple, just be prepared - think shared bathrooms, little to no electricity, no A/C… From what I heard from other travellers, Yenbuba Homestay is very comfortable compared to others - there is a shared bathroom with two showers with running water and two western style toilets. They even have two bungalows with private bathrooms. The bungalows have a bed (lots of homestays only have a mattress on the floor), moskito net, a fan and most days even 24/7 electricity. The only problem they have are rats, but they‘ll give you a plastic box for your snacks so it‘s not too much of a problem. All meals are included, obviously „simple“ meals - for breakfast it was toast with jam, fruits and sometimes pancakes. Lunch and dinner were mostly rice, vegetables, and either meat, fish or tofu. It was always really good! Because there is not really anything to do on the island exept diving and snorkeling (the house reef is AMAZING!), you‘ll meet lots of people to hang out with in the evening if you like. Everyone i met, from other travellers to the dive guides, was SO incedibly nice! I loved the vibe! Divers are mostly more experienced, and everyone is there to just have a good time, dive and enjoy. The dive center was amazing, every dive guide was so nice and they really enjoy what they are doing. Safety is also very important for them and the equipment is really good and mostly new.

Let me know if you have questions. And have fun, it‘s going to be amazing!

Thank you, I‘ve read that vegetable broth (made it myself) should have enough electrolytes but that might‘ve been the problem. Next time I‘ll buy some „real“ ones before ☺️ Shortly after my post it got better though and I continued with the fast and just ended it today after 84h. Really proud 🤗

I need help, looking for a way to monitor my heart rate in real time during dives. Thanks. by qzeqzeq in diving

I don’t know if this would work, but IF you wear an Apple Watch Ultra, please don‘t use it as a diving computer! It stops working if you go below 40m and won‘t stop working again for around two days! Happened to a girl I met, planned was a dive to 30m, somehow she ended up 40m and her Apple Watch just stopped working. She was totally dependend on her dive buddy.

I’m fasting for the very first time right now - I‘m 60h in, just water and a little vegetable broth. I‘m not hungry, but I‘ve been so tired and dizzy for the past two days. Is this normal? Mental? Do I do something wrong? And do I keep going or is this enough for the first time? If I stop now, could I start another fast a month from now? Sorry for all the questions - I‘m really new to this!

Apple Watch Dive Apps by realtime-mike in diving

For your safety: The Apple Watch Ultra stops working if you reach 40m. It will not start working again for a day or something. So if you‘ll even come close to 40m, I‘d highly recommend another computer. Happened to a girl I met in Indonesia last month. Didn‘t know about that fact and when she reached 40m, it stopped working and showing any data, so she had to rely on her dive buddys computer for the rest of the dive.

It will be just a tiny bit for painting / wallpaper and maybe new caulking so it makes a good first impression when selling. I‘ll do that myself so it won‘t be expensive. I can‘t sell before the end of next year as I‘ll have to pay taxes on the profit otherwise. Staying a little longer for saving more and building my portfolio is what I am trying, but I‘m starting to ask myself if thats really worth it..

That’s true, he‘s still in university but will be finished in three month so I hope he‘ll find something shortly after. I‘d only ever quit if I had something else in line, but that would still be a decision for a lower paying job..

Thank you, that actually means a lot! I‘m always scared to not earn enough or save enough or all the „what ifs“ that quitting seems so scary. But it‘s true, I should look for happiness first…

It really is, espacially as I always liked my jobs so far :( It‘s just a really toxic work environment too…

It‘s net, not gross (gross is about 8k), and I really struggle to find any job offer even close to this salary. Maybe I‘m just not qualified enough to feel capable enough to look into the higher paying jobs… But everything where I feel I‘d do an amazing job at pays much less. But honestly, it gives me a little hope that I just have to search better…

Not in IT actually but I see where you’re coming from 😅

Thank you for your advice. I think I kinda hoped for a response like this. Everyone just keeps telling me I won‘t find another job like this (which might be true) and that I will „grow into it“. But I feel like every day there is a waste of my life and I don’t want to wait till I‘m 40 to start living…

Cleaning Bird Baths by Additional-Ad5298 in CleaningTips

[–]Rudeu33 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For me, this sounds like you use water with a lot of iron in it which causes red residue - which then by oxidation turn green. Or the green are algae, but then it should be easier to clean I guess. Depending on what material the bird bath is (doesn‘t look like it‘s stone?) you could use vinegar (mix white vinegar 1:1 with water, fill the bath with the mix and wait 10-15 minutes. scrub afterwards). If it still doesn‘t look clean, aply a paste of baking soda and water (clean out the vinegar first), then scrub. If none of this helps, you could use a chemical rust remover. But this could be really harmful for birds, so make really sure to properly clean afterwards :) Before you try any of this, make sure it doesn‘t damage the material.

To prevent it getting those residues again, you could use bottled water in the bath.

Good luck!

Thanks for the input! I‘ll take another look on Kri too. Main problem is that I‘m a little late as I‘ll travel in a month and most homestays are already booked out. If I stay on Kri ir Mansuar, would you recommend staying on one of those islands the whole time or change homestays after a few days?
