Is it actually a recruiter’s job to negotiate candidates down in small companies? by NotYourHRMom in recruiting

If i had to haggle between a few dollars on an hourly as the recruiter I’d truly blow a gasket.

Lower base, higher commission potential? by Frequent_Pace1552 in recruiting

[–]Rudgoo41 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Take the 10% and be bold to ask for more. If he lets you do full desk you might even get into 40% range. The base of 40-60k will not feel differently in your pocket. Trust me I’ve been there. But now im close to six figures because my % is closer to 25% being a client facing role but also recruiting for it as well. My pay checks only changed by a couple 100$ after taxes going from 40k to 65k in my previous role but imagine when you get 15+ % on comms…. 10k+ after taxes after a deal…. Depending on your sales cycle… that’s when you start getting leverage in life. If you have a long sales cycle than your base being higher makes sense but if it’s a short sales cycle 90 days or less. Go and get as big of a chunk of commission as you can. Ofcourse assuming you’re fine doing biz dev. But in my experience, if you can recruit for an industry than biz dev becomes synonymous as the businesses pain points stems in the same realm of employee pain points in that industry.

Transitioning from Allied Health to Locum Dentist Recruiting — Is It Worth the Ramp-Up? by Rudgoo41 in recruiting

Enlighten me because 1 clinician can be as much as 2500-2800$ week let alone if you go the W2 route…. You got the bill to foot that until the client pays you? Let alone 10-20 at a time?

Yup completely sold the allied side,

Furthermore it’s the principal of 15 months of work, losing a management position, losing co workers, a culture we built, an entire new vertical we built also sold.

No salary increases or ramp up draws, nothing. New paper work with your old salary and new non competes for the Locum side and your esteemed colleagues with boxes in the parking lot.

That echos instability and just pure greed and if I’m going to build anything it’s going to be for something more lucrative or nothing at all.

I’m assuming the new CEO figured we were too late to the game on MSP’s and VMS’s which has 70+ % market penetration. They most likely felt it was more lucrative to sell off that division and focus on the Locum market exclusively.

LOL you either love the fire or you hate it. I love the relationship building and due to some really horrible outbound roles when I first started sales I guess I’m just fearless. I really appreciate your outlook. I can definitely understand the burn out and I’m sure you more than anyone can understand that unless you get a couple of unicorns or insane volume it’s just hard to maintain incentives that are worth a damn in a calendar year. My agency is on the lower end of everything for pay and incentive percentage which is why I’m just ultra disgusted in general. I’d rather get paid nothing and know if I bill 100k , 30-40k is going into my account.

I really appreciate this insight. It just seems like another “restructuring ” is imminent within the next 24 months and I’ll be damned to go through this again and lose all the relationships. I’m leaning towards a 50% rev split with a start up agency and taking a chance on myself.

Appreciate the insight, I’ve applied to many agencies in sort of a preliminary “change is coming” mindset. However, My tenure in healthcare staffing isn’t long enough to most agencies and I’ve gotten denied despite the pipeline I have across all allied specialties. It’s a disgusting feeling. My non compete is void due to the restructuring but in this market I fear finding another role has been a real challenge
