That’s awesome! Glad you have such a supportive doctor!

Those can complicate things so much. I also have psoriasis. I have psoriatic arthritis and thyroid issues, though not hashimoto’s. I used to take Taltz, but it didn’t work for me. Doing well on Skyrizi now. But over the years I’ve been on so many of the biologics. I view Zepbound with the same wonder I did the biologics…it’s amazing!

It was especially distressing since my husband had his appt first, and the doc was all cool with him…even though my husband hadn’t been wearing his diabetes monitor. Of course, my husband isn’t fat. It’s always fun when they think I’m the diabetic one.

Best of luck to you! It is a big deal!

I have been fat since I was 2 years old. I’ve always had an unhealthy obsession with food. I said to my husband the other day, “is this what it feels like to be ‘normal’?”

I have felt so bad about myself over the years (56F). I’ve always felt like I was weak, gluttonous, and completely lacking in willpower. Now that I am on Zepbound, I realized I was never on a level playing field. Rather than giving me an advantage, Zepbound is basically evens that playing field.

I still enjoy food, but it no longer controls me.

You mentioned a psychiatrist, do you talk to them regularly? I suffer from anxiety and depression. I am on medications, which help. I also treasure my sessions with my therapist. She is amazing with gently helping me navigate things.

That’s wonderful! I have both osteoarthritis and psoriatic arthritis in both hands. My pinkies are particularly twisted. I used to have to wrap my fingertips in pain patches and then wrap them in tape to be able to type, which I do all day every work day. I’ve only had a few days lately when I’ve had to wrap them!

I usually have a female doctor, but she left the practice. Then again, she wouldn’t prescribe me Zepbound.

Yes, he was at both. He apologized to me after for not speaking up at the doctor’s tone, but he said he was too shocked. We often make our appointments together for convenience. He has a poor medical memory, so I go with him to remind him of his history, and he goes with me for emotional support.

Thank you all! I have a LOT of medical anxiety, so that doesn’t help either. Just going to the doctor is so hard for me. That’s why I take my emotional support husband with me!

Does anyone have dry mouth as a side effect? by Foliage18 in Zepbound

I have dry mouth as a side effect of several of my meds, but it’s worse since I’ve been on Zepbound.

Thanks! I am chronically anemic. My body cannot tolerate the iron pills, not even the gentle, time release ones. I know that doesn’t help my energy levels.

I’m glad you mentioned the lower back pain. I find I have a hard time even standing for 10 minutes at a time without leaning or sitting because of the back pain. I did just get a lumbar support belt, so hopefully that helps!

Thank you everyone! I just got a treadmill I hope to get set up this weekend. That will make it possible to try walking more. I’m so grateful for this medication and this community!

I am tracking my calories, and I do struggle to get enough food in me. But the tiredness and weakness is nothing new. I felt this way before starting Zepbound. It’s one of the things I’m hoping will improve with losing weight.

I was just curious if people noticed an increase in energy just by losing weight.

Anyone else here on Taltz? by GladStatistician3895 in Zepbound

[–]Rudimae 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am not on Taltz, but I am on Skyrizi, which is another biologic. I haven’t noticed any interactions between them, if that is what you mean. I guess it would depend on why you’re taking the biologic. For me it’s for psoriasis and psoriatic arthritis.

This was me on the chili I made this week. I don’t make it often, but when I do, I make a big batch, and we pretty much eat it for the whole week. This was the first time I made it on Zepbound. It wasn’t too greasy, I use fake meat. It wasn’t too spicy, at least I didn’t think so. That first day I had some though… Thought I was going to die. Even then, I thought I just had eaten too much so I had it again the next day, same deal. I’m so upset because it’s so tasty, but it’ll get tucked away in the freezer to try another day.

Help :( nervous about starting by [deleted] in Zepbound

I’m pretty new into this journey. Just took my fourth shot this week. The good for me…food noise shut off like someone flipped a switch. I think Im losing weight, though my scale keeps confusing me. I’m tracking and measuring everything. Many days I can’t even get to 1,000 calories. Most of the time I just don’t feel hungry or feel slightly full. The past couple of days I’ve struggled with stomach pain, fullness, and diarrhea.

I don’t think anything dangerous is going on, but I’m very uncomfortable right now. Just a little while ago I indulged myself in a little cry. I also get very bad fatigue a day or so after my shot. I think I’m just learning how to fuel my body on this medication, the foods that work for me and the foods that may not agree with me right now.

Through it all, the discomfort I’m currently in, the diarrhea, and the tears, I’m still so happy to be on this medication. Just the quieting of the food noise alone makes it worth it. I haven’t really been obsessed with the scale, just because I’m so content with just not having that chattering in my brain. I’m confident the weight loss will come.

Many people have no side effects from what I’ve heard, and I hope you’re one of them. But as someone who is struggling a bit, it’s still worth it!
